Rally Behind Constantin Valdor Of The Legio Custodes By Forge World
March 17, 2018 by brennon
There was some stuff about weapon options for The Escher Gangs in Necromunda today by Forge World. But, hey, I liked the look of this instead so here's Constantin Valdor Captain-General of the Legio Custodes.
"Constantin Valdor sits at the right hand of the Emperor as perhaps His most trusted companion and guardian, a watchman of inviolable purpose and all but unmatched fighting skill. Such in fact is Valdor’s martial power and superhuman physical and mental abilities that there are those, even within the Imperial Court, who have in whispers called him ‘Primarch’ in all but name.
This is no doubt a disingenuous claim, as for all his power Valdor was made and trained to serve a different and far more focused purpose, that of Lord Commander of the Custodian Guard, and to Valdor the petty concerns of conquest and glory, dominion and victory are as nothing when compared to his own sworn duty."
A lot of the different models for the Legio Custodes haven't quite hit the mark but I think this fellow looks awesome. I love the over-the-top 'art' style of the model as if he has been dragged from the pages of a mighty tome in Warhammer 40,000.
When you look closer at the model, as you see in these snapshots of the piece, you can tell that a lot of care and attention has gone into this particular piece. Not to say others haven't but I just think the style works better on this particular model.
What do you think of Constantin?

i have to agree Ben, forge world seem to have upped their game of late.
this along with the Tolkien miniatures we saw recently and the necromunda bounty hunters are more like what i expect to see from them.
Interesting model with lots of nice features, something about the whole seems off, will reserve judgement until I see tge bare resin in the flesh.
Not a fan of the paint job, but the figure looks amazing.
A great figure but.
I find it strange a model of a dead custodian.
How is that any different from half of the Horus Heresy Figure Series as it is since they’re also dead or missing? And in the case of Valdor he is simply marked as having vanished at some point following the Heresy. I mean Curze and Manus were both killed outright yet they exist.
can a Primarch really be killed?
On Warhammer TV’s twitch channel during the release of Custodes they said Constantine is still alive …. he is just no longer with the Adeptus Custodes ( Lovely bit of lore that, what Custodes do once they percieve themselves to be aging and no longer on the top of their game)
my bad its aquillion I was thinking of.
Next level of bling 😉
That is one over the top model and I like it.
