Love the green screen on your marine .
I like this stuff more and more each day.
For the basing… Prussia and especially the heart land Brandenburg is famous for it’s many forests… and lakes, swamps and meadows. But I kind of like the idea of some sort of forest type bases. To be honest I have no idea how to approach such an effect on 25mm round bases. But the result could possibly be something not often seen.
But anyhow it’s up to you… even a swamp(ish) style could look good. But please no desert. To me desert is the choice of the lazy people.
I think if it was me, I’d go for a sort of Spain / Italy look on the bases – dry, dusty ground with occasional bushes / grass. To really pull this off you also need a certain amount of dust on the figures themselves – maybe with weathering powders? The dust might be another thing that can help tie the tank and the figures together.
if you plan to keep the tank and troops very clean maybe you need to think about basing that mirrors that, so dessert will require making the minis look dusty. i thought making it look like a muddy battle field but the same would abbey using mud effects.
thank for your comments john.
love the blood raven mini, great chapter to work with. inspired me to post my own blood ravens.

can’t wait to see it completed
I keep getting distracted by John’s rack. Of army painter paints.
That aside they’re really coming along nicely, they’ve blended right in with 40k now.
Those transfers are great, have they been white ink printed?
I think for the Bases the colour scheme really would work nicely with a snow base. Perhaps thawing snow with a little green coming through?
They are coming along very nicely.
I think the Prussonians would look good with flocked bases. Maybe first put down a few rocks and gravel bits. Then so the flockbox to apply static grass. You could use different lengths and different shades of green grass. Maybe even some brown and golden colors of grass. I think the green would really contrast nicely with blue of the uniforms and make the miniatures pop.
your not wrong about some of that rubbing off. given a little time and space to roam free you are producing some really nice work. impressive brush skills on the the blood raven mate. that deep rich red is some colour. @warzan and @Lloyd i know you are ridiculously busy but you really need to continue investing time in John. not just in giving him more time to take projects to the next level but set some time aside for John to simply just practice. not everything he does has to go on camera. if your going to grow as… Read more »
They are looking excellent. At the beginning I wasn’t convinced that adding a few pouches etc would be enough to transform Napoleonics to Warhammer 40k, but I was wrong. You have added just enough to both keep the Napoleonic feel whilst bringing the figures into the fourty first millennium. Excellent job.
really enjoying the progress of the vlog. the models are getting to the stage of being able to see how they going to look finished.
i think woodland bases would be in keeping with theme. but i think going with winter woodland theme, using autumn leaf litter and snow would give a quick but interesting basing that will contrast the blue and grey.
I hate to admit that I’m beginning to like them.
