Looking great, really good conversions, you needn’t have worried about them looking ’40k’ enough. Really do think there should be a small something at the bottom of the lances to make them pole a bit more balanced looking. That’s just my opinion though, and it could be knocked off with a small bead or something. It’s great to see how much character these guys are getting with each update. Prussionia is cut off by the great rift. War, horror, deamon, xenos, all came to claim this world. The word from their people was hope is lost. But, the stuborn sixth… Read more »
Ooooh the “Stubborn Sixth” I like it!
looking sweet.have a good holiday.
Nice to see how you cut down the backpacks. I can’t wait until January. I think the new camera view works much better with you being left handed. More of your work comes through your left hand and it shows in this video. I appreciate the message at the end of the video! I know very little of 40K, so my comments were mostly about gun barrels, but I’m happy to hear that you are getting more out of these projects than “I am doing this for work”. Feels good, man. I’m pretty sure i have one of the Army… Read more »
New Vox’s look great cut down!
I like the company banner too with the topper. It fits well with the other banners but is also distinct enough to set it apart!
As the others, can’t wait to see the paint job on these guys!
If you’re going to print transfers for the banner, then why not just print the banner itself and attach it after all the painting? You could do detailed banners for everyone this way. They are made of paper, after all. Or would the PVA cause the ink to run? I like your banner technology, but I do have to wonder how long they would last if those models were kept in foam and transferred to a gaming shop once a week for play. Won’t they break, or at least bend often enough for any paint on them to flake off?
If you’re going to use an ink jet printer for the banners the colours would be affected by the PVA. That means you would have to use a colour laser printer for this job.
I thought the voxcaster looked fine the way it was, but I’m so happy that you changed it. It looks so much better and fits the figure really well.
Happy Christmas and Joyous New Year.
Why the 6th? Oh, why the 6th?
I mean… if you stick with the Prussian theme it would mean you have to take BROWN as the colour for the collars and the likes… according to the Prussian colour sequence

Maybe one could take a bronze as substitute…
Great work so far… and the rest I wrote is just to stir you 😉
I am not too bothered being overridden the main thing with the purity seals for me was the commander, and the tank but it is more about those bases. The bases are going to be super important for people buying into their 40kness
Happy Christmas.
Great work thus far.
Looking forward to the paint job.
Inspiring me to get back to my Dark Imperium box soon.
The unit is fabulous looking with all the alterations I think the first voxcaster could be for the command squad with the larger pack used for hight command/orbital comuncations circuitry.
Hope you have a great XMAS break john its well deserved.
For straighter cuts, use a Xacto saw.
your the best John mate, wouldn’t swap you for Angel Giraldez. the pacing has been fine, I prefer watching you take a little more time. in fact in an ideal world i’d like to see you do fewer more ambitious projects. given how well this has been received I would love to see you do 40k BoW 2.0. clear out and start again from the ground up and bring the studio armies upto this new standard. one at a time, there’s no rush, its about the shared journey as much as the results. I would prefer to see half a… Read more »
No more videos until the new year, man what am I going to do on my break; I’ll have to develop a hobby or something. Still loving the look of those flamers, great conversion work there. The vox casters look much better too although I might trim the aerial not mounted in the spring short or curl it to make it look springier and less liable to get whacked off (ahem!) on a door way. It kinda makes the spring seem redundant otherwise if the second aerial is going to catch it anyhow. And I’ll echo some of the other… Read more »
Is there a reason you put the banners on before priming?. I always make it the last thing I do on a mini. Am I missing a trick here?
I like to prime a fully built and ready miniature. It’s perhaps just my habit 🙂
Looks really great. I like how you only made minor changes to the minis. Love the look of the flamers with the extended barrel. Can’t wait to see the cav painted. Are you going to do any banners for the tank?
Oh yes! Banners will be a thing for the tank for sure 🙂
Great stuff. When you see it all together it looks really good.
Would love to see more converting in 2018. 🙂
Maybe convert the a Necron Triarch Stalker for the Orcs.
Or maybe for the Imperial guard seeing they have limited resources.
Well gee thanks John! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
@johnlyons Amazing project John. I think it’s shaping up to be an awesome 40k force. I absolutely cannot wait to see the paint go down on them. Good luck for the new year.
Amazing job mate, great inspiration will try something similar to other historical miniatures.
Its great to see something like this using none GW miniatures.
I became a full member to see this reports and can not wait for the new year for more
@johnlyons this is such a cool project and inspires me to make some additions to my own Imperial Guard …ahem Astra Militarum army. As most of us here, I’m already excited to see the you painting these.
