Buy Primarch Russ At The Warhammer European Open Day!
September 24, 2016 by brennon
Forge World will be showing off Primarch Russ of the Space Wolves, available for the first time at the Warhammer European Open Day, in Amsterdam on October 1st...
He's looking very dashing indeed. A lot of people assumed he'd have a beard but instead they've gone for a more Godly look which I think suits him.
Once again I think Forge World have knocked it out of the park with some amazing facial details, well-crafted armour and a cool battlefield pose too.
The event will be held at Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport, Melbournestraat 1, Lijnden 1175 RM, Netherlands and you can get tickets HERE.
Forge World always have good things to show off at these events so we'll be waiting to see what pops up as part of the surprise for attendees.
Will you be snapping up Russ?

I’m not really sure what it is but I’m not particularly taken with the FW Russ. Maybe its the angle of the photo…or the paint scheme…
So I just noticed that all the mightiest heroes of the Imperium are all clean shaven. I have never seen a razor mentioned once. Wonder if being a hero means you don’t get the 5 o’clock shadow? Hmmmmm.
Nah they just all visit Superman’s barber ;p
I’d put this in the top 3 or 4 primarchs, stunning. Does make me consider doing a collection of them as a painting project – probably won’t happen but they are great minis for the most part. Want to see the wolves.
Shouldn’t be surprising to people that he’s beardless considering that’s how the artwork (eg Prospero Burns cover) and even his previous mini looked.
I was going to point out that the original miniature and all artwork to date have portrayed Leman Russ and looking quite youthful, clean shaven and incredibly blonde. He is pretty much as close to comic book Tbor as you could get without actually being comic book Thor. Well, the Hollywood version of the comic book hero
Where are his two doggies? I didn’t expect him to have a beard because he’s never had one, but I did expect to see rover and lassy as they’ve always been with him.
Forgeworld said releasing separately so it didn’t become a more expensive primarch than the others
I know what I expected and I know it is for some reason not this rendering, the why is simple we all have a look in our own imaginations of some of the more emotive primarches I think Russ is one such ideal. For me it does not capture that low loping wolvine pace I think the base is not the most convincing and perhaps a little too busy that it takes away from the champion puppy himself.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the base is like that because it’ll connect to Magnus’s base somehow to create a diorama.
Very nice. How ever I was expecting Russ to have viking beard.
He’s a nice piece.
Also glad he doesn’t have a sleigh.
That’s extra
:p
santa is fill it up for Xmass?
Seems like Russ was smart enough not to use that thing in battle and only used it to address his legion.
What?! No beard. Meh. Lol.
He never had a beard.

he looks good but its is a crap picture/angle.
Everything is great apart from the position of his head. His focus should have been more centralised and his expression – open mouth, fanged teeth bared, the savage snarl of the wolf going for the jugular. Or maybe they felt this had been done to death in the general space wolf range. Either way it is 95% there, but doesn’t feel quite right. Still a beautiful rendition of my favourite Primarch.
Does he come with his two wolves.??? (Logan was the only original primarch that I owned and I seem to remember having two wolves with him)
Lehman not Logan …. Jeez don’t type responses when you first get out of bed in the morning ….off to take Omega 3 tablet … think I am going senile ……(that’s enough out of you in the back row)
