Pre-Order 40K Adepta Sororitas & Genestealer Cults This Weekend
June 5, 2024 by brennon
Pre-orders are coming up this weekend for the recently announced Adepta Sororitas and Genestealer Cults forces that will be coming to 10th Edition battlefields in Warhammer 40,000. Games Workshop are offering up the new Codexes as well as Combat Patrols and accessories.
Codex: Adepta Sororitas // Warhammer 40,000
Shop Warhammer 40,000 @ Store.OnTableTop
The Codex for the Adepta Sororitas leads the way and comes packed with all the bits and bobs you'd expect from a new Codex. You'll get updated rules for your miniatures and the way you run your army plus more information on adapting your army for Crusade (narrative) play. As with all of the new Codexes, you can get the standard version of the fancy limited edition version depending on how much faith you have in The Emperor.
You can also get yourself the Datasheet Cards & Dice for the Adepta Sororitas. The dice look nice but you can probably get more dice in the same style elsewhere on the internet. Additionally, whilst the Datasheet Cards are handy for playing games, do be aware that they might end up being invalid in the future with rules changes. Pick them up IF you're going to be playing a lot and make good use of them during the launch of the new Codex.
Adepta Sororitas - Datasheet Cards & Dice // Warhammer 40,000
If you're looking to get into Adepta Sororitas then you might want to get your hands on a new force all in one go. One of the best ways to do that is with the new Combat Patrol set for the Adepta Sororitas which comes with a Canoness leading the way...
Adepta Sororitas: Combat Patrol // Warhammer 40,000
She is joined by ten Battle Sisters, ten Arco-flagellants and five of the elite Celestian Sacresants. You can either let the Canoness join the Battle Sisters to enhance their potential or send her into the heart of combat with her Celestian Sacresant bodyguard, looking to smite sinners up close.
If you already have an army of Adepta Sororitas miniatures then you might want to get the new Canoness with Jump Pack alongside the new Battleforce.
Battleforce: Army Of Faith // Warhammer 40,000
This (unfortunately) locks the new Canoness behind a rather hefty army bundle but she will be available separately in the future. If you've waited this long for a Canoness with a jump pack then you can wait a few more weeks. Anyway, this set comes with ten Seraphim or Zephyrim who are also using jump packs and you have an Exorcist which will provide long-range support.
Last but not least, one of the Blackstone Fortress characters is now going to be available for your Adepta Sororitas force.
Ministorum Priest With Vindictor // Warhammer 40,000
Content with having explored the depths of that Xenos labyrinth, the Ministorum Priest is now ready to step out onto the battlefield with that vindictor to torch the enemies of The Emperor. I would like to think that her time spent with Xenos companions might have changed her outlook but I would guess she's still very happy to burn Aeldari to a crisp.
Genestealer Cults Pre-Orders
As well as the Adepta Sororitas releases, you can also get your hands on the new Codex for the Genestealer Cults.
Codex: Genestealer Cults // Warhammer 40,000
Much like the Adepta Sororitas Codex, this comes packed with updated rules, lore and more for the Genestealer Cults on the tabletop. Undermine planet after planet in the Imperium with your Genestealer Cultists and wait for the Day Of Ascension. If you're looking for a very unique army for use in Warhammer 40,000 then this is the faction for you.
Once again, there is also a set of thematic dice and your Datasheet Cards that you can pre-order this weekend.
Genestealer Cults - Datasheet Cards & Dice // Warhammer 40,000
The same caveat applies to these as I mentioned above. These cards will be very handy (I have used my Index cards a lot for my Aeldari) but just be aware that they could be changed in future updates. If your opponent is nice and relaxed though, maybe scoop them up!
An, unfortunately, less ambitious Combat Patrol is then one of the starting points for someone looking to dive into playing as the Genestealer Cults. You get an interesting mix of units and vehicles in the box but nothing that seems to really nail the "feel" of them as an army.
Genestealer Cults: Combat Patrol // Warhammer 40,000
The set is led by a Jackal Alpha who rides into battle alongside five other Jackals. You also get an ATV and the Achilles Ridgerunner. Ten Hybrid Metamorphs then finish off the Combat Patrol who will be the ones who settle down on objectives and get you victory points throughout the course of the game. This is a little bit lacklustre compared to the last Combat Patrol offering so instead, you might want to pick up the new Battleforce.
The new Biosanctic Broodsurge comes with a new character for the Genestealer Cults and a host of miniatures ready to ambush your foes.
Battleforce: Biosanctic Broodsurge // Warhammer 40,000
The new Benefictus leads the way with a brain so big it can summon psychic power that can blast holes in tanks. They are joined by an Abominant, five Aberrants, ten Neophyte Hybrids, ten Purestrain Genestealers and two Goliaths (which can be built as Rockgrinders or Trucks). This feels like a much better starting point for a Genestealer Cults army and you get the newest miniature for the range as well.
A New Black Library Hero
As well as all of those new releases for the Genestealer Cults and the Adepta Sororitas, we also got a preview of a new book and iconic Black Library miniature that could be added to your armies of faith.
Daemonbreaker // Black Library
Daemonbreaker is a new Celestian Sacresant Aveline novel coming from Black Library by Jude Reid. This book charts the tale of Aveline during Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade which earned her the moniker of Daembreaker. She can then be folded into your armies with a lovely new miniature.
Aveline // Warhammer 40,000
She is clad in the classic baroque armour of the Adepta Sororitas and comes with a sword that is blazing with divine fury. She comes from the Order Of The Sacred Rose and in the story, finds herself sent to hunt down a Chaos Sorcerer although as you might imagine, things don't go as easily as you'd think when the forces of Chaos are involved.
Aveline (Details) // Warhammer 40,000
She is a rather epic miniature and could be a fun new painting project for someone who already has a burgeoning Adepta Sororitas army and wants to cap it off with an impressive centrepiece miniature. I really like the Sci-Fantasy vibe that the Adepta Sororitas bring to the tabletop and Aveline here really does showcase that.
New Warhammer 40,000 Missions
Finally, we have a new season of Warhammer 40,000 kicking off set in the Pariah Nexus. This means a new mission deck which introduces new ways to play including updated primary and secondary objectives. You will also get new Secret Missions which add some more flavour to your games and seem much more engaging than the previous Gambits from Leviathan.
Mission Deck: Pariah Nexus // Warhammer 40,000
If you want to make sure you've got a handle on where your objectives are and what you need to secure, you can also get yourself an Objective Set from Games Workshop.
Objective Set - Pariah Nexus // Warhammer 40,000
This is similar to what other companies have been doing for a while but of course, this provides you with an "official" set from Games Workshop. Whilst these seem like a nice idea, I think you'll find some better versions elsewhere and with different designs that could suit your faction.
The Adepta Sororitas and Genestealer Cults pre-orders will be starting this weekend alongside the new mission cards. Aveline from Daemonbreaker will arrive later in the year.
What do you make of the new previews?

The Genestealer Cultist truck with the lawnmower front attachment is cool; how old is that Sisters of Battle Church-mobile, though? Oddly still holds up. Ahead of its time?
