Piety And Pain Boxed Set Coming To Warhammer 40K This Weekend
March 15, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is looking ahead to pre-orders for the new boxed set, Piety And Pain, which offers up another window into the grimdark 28mm Sci-Fi world of Warhammer 40,000. This time, events are focused around the Adepta Sororitas and Drukhari.
Piety And Pain Set // Warhammer 40,000
Shop Warhammer 40,000 @ Store.OnTableTop
Within this new set, you'll find the core of two armies for both factions. Each of them is led by a new hero with Lelith Hesperax at the head of the Drukhari raid and a Palatine trying to keep the Adepta Sororitas alive.
Drukhari Army // Warhammer 40,000
It's certainly an interesting selection of miniatures and it feels as if you get a better deal if you're going to be picking up the Drukhari. Still, I'd like to see those dark cousins of the Aeldari work out how to destroy that Immolator.
Adepta Sororitas Army // Warhammer 40,000
As well as the armies, you'll also get a thirty-two-page campaign booklet that leads you through an unfolding story. It also comes with a selection of rules for fighting in urban areas and ways to tie Piety And Pain into a Crusade too.
I could see Piety And Pain being useful to those who have already started a Drukhari or Adepta Sororita army. You could use the options presented here to make your fighting force more unique. As I mentioned above, I'm not sure how useful it would be for those starting out but then again I've not played the newest edition of Warhammer 40,000.
New Codex & Combat Patrol Set
As well as Piety And Pain, you'll also be able to pick up the newest version of the Drukhari Codex which gives you everything you need to play these raiders from the darkest regions of space.
Codex Drukhari // Warhammer 40,000
As with most of their Codex releases, there will be a full-art version which might be nice for those who are really into their murderous and bloodthirsty raiders. I will admit that the Drukhari have often had a certain draw. I had always played rather static armies in Warhammer 40,000 like T'au so I did think it would be fun to play a super manoeuvrable force like the Drukhari.
If you are thinking of getting yourself into Warhammer 40,000 with the Drukhari then you might actually find it better to pick up the new Combat Patrol.
Drukhari Combat Patrol // Warhammer 40,000
This set comes with an Archon, ten Kabalite Warriors, five Incubi and then a Raider and Ravager to get your troops closer to the action. This is much more of a firm base on which to build your collection and works nicely for Combat Patrol games and as the start of a Crusade force.
You could combine this with Piety And Pain but I reckon you should just wait, get this painted up and then consider buying some of the individual components later down the line. Lelith Hesperax will be available separately in the future so don't feel like you have to rush out to get her.
Beyond that, there will be a full set of new Data Cards and Dice for the Drukhari if you want to theme and accessories even more.
Are you tempted by these new offerings from Piety And Pain?

The Combat patrol Box looks nice, not so sure about the Piety and Pain set there a so less Sisters in it. Would have like a normal 10 woman squad of Battle Sisters more than the Immolator.
Yer – I guess they’re trying to pitch it as an add-on rather than something to get started with.
That makes sense.
I like both new models that are included in Piety and Pain but those are not enough to make it worth buying when rest of content is lackluster. But that Combat Patrol boxed set for Dark Eldar does look like nice way to start army for them.
The Druelder look great especially the winged one’s
