Night Lords Clash With Drukhari Mandrakes In New Kill Team Set
April 1, 2024 by brennon
The newest Kill Team set for Warhammer 40,000 is going to be available to pre-order this weekend from Games Workshop. Chaos Space Marine Night Lords come up against nightmarish Drukhari Mandrakes in a clash over Bheta-Decima and a nearby Generatorum Hub.

On one side, you have the Nemesis Claw of the Night Lords Legion. This is an upgrade kit for your standard Chaos Space Marine plastic kit, resplendent with all of the different elements that make them very Night Lords. You've got all manner of winged helmets, flayed skin to drape over shoulder pads and some absolutely fearsome weapons.

Yes, that is also a rather creepy-looking piece of kit fashioned from the body of a dead Space Marine. However you want to flense your enemies, there are ways and means of doing so. Claws, poisoned blades and more are waiting to be used on your enemies. When in doubt, you can also go loud with a rocket launcher.
The new plastic miniatures from the set are the updated Drukhari Mandrakes. These are a much-needed upgrade for a classic Drukhari/Dark Eldar unit and they are looking suitably brutal.

Slip between dimensions and sneak up on your foes, using your blades to cut down your foes before they even know what has happened. I'm not a fan of the shadow effect on the one miniature within this set but otherwise, I really like the design of these brutal killers. Hopefully, it won't be long until these get added into the mix as a separate unit as I could see folks wanting to scoop them up for their Drukhari armies.
As well as the twenty miniatures for the two Kill Teams, you also get the Generatorum Hub terrain piece which can be slotted into the new scenarios in the book. This could well be a good Kill Team option for those seeking to go down a dark and brooding path.
Will you be picking up Kill Team: Nightmare?

They are very nice models, I will give them that. My problem with the game is that the squads are not diverse. In the previous edition you could build a squad consisting of a terminator, a scout, a tactical marine, a devastator marine etc..
The Dark Eldar for example have a variety of troop types – why on earth would I want a small strike force of just mandrakes?
It does not really make any sense to me.
