Dive Into A New Warhammer 40K Kill Team Box & Suit Up Your Sisters!
January 23, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop is going to be giving you another avenue into the grimdark future of Warhammer 40,000 with a brand new Kill Team expansion set called Pariah Nexus. Here, the Space Marines of the Imperium fight their way through a Necron tomb complex.

As mentioned above, with this set you'll be able to get your hands on some new miniatures for the Space Marines and Necrons as you play out a labyrinthine clash. All of the miniatures in the set will be available later on down the line separately (and rules already exist for them) but for now, they will be available here first.
Kill Team: Pariah Nexus // Warhammer 40,000
It is about time that the Necrons got themselves some new Flayed Ones, one of the coolest units from the old army. They are also bringing in an entirely new character in the form of the Chronomancer who is no doubt up to all manner of tricks deep within this tomb complex.
The Space Marines also get entirely new miniatures with the Space Marine Captain rocking some heavier armour and some brutal weapons. Talking of brutal weapons, you can also field the three wound Heavy Intercessors. Time to put all of those anti-Primaris weapons out of commission.
Here is a better look at all of the miniatures from the set...
Captain With Master-Crafted Heavy Bolt Rifle // Warhammer 40,000
Heavy Intercessors // Warhammer 40,000
Necron Chronomancer // Warhammer 40,000
Necron Flayed Ones // Warhammer 40,000
I like the look of the gruesome Flayed Ones and I think they will be a fun fit for a lot of Necron armies out there, especially those that like surprising their foes. Regardless of the miniatures though, I think that the rest of the Pariah Nexus set is actually rather cool. I like that it comes with the different boards and you get the cool Necron-themed terrain for making ace battlefields.
If you and a friend have been sharing the various Space Marine and Necron releases then this might be another good option to stick on the "to share" pile. As well as giving you reinforcements for your army it will also offer up a fun alternative with Kill Team for you to have a pop at.
Suit Up, Sister!
In addition to the new Kill Team set, the folks at Games Workshop revealed a new battle-suit for the Adepta Sororitas, a reward for their faith in The God-Emperor.

This is a new set of miniatures which can be used to give your Adepta Sororitas army a little bit more firepower on the tabletop.
Paragon Warsuit // Warhammer 40K
Standing head and shoulders above other Battle Sisters, the Paragon Warsuits are a little bit of a mix between contraptions like the Penitent Engine and the Dreadknight used by the Grey Knights. It has been given a significantly ecclesiastical overhaul though and it looks like a walking altar with guns attached. Never do anything by halves in the grimdark future.
I wasn't quite sure what to make of these when I first saw them but I have started to quite like the design. It matches their theme quite nicely and I think the silhouette will look impressive on the tabletop. I do agree with everyone saying that I will make sure to put helmets on all of them though just to protect their skulls from being blown up.
Does the new Kill Team set and reveal for the Adepta Sororitas float your boat?

More anime incoming. Loving the Necrons tho!!
The Killtema expansion looks interesting and I do like the Sisterbot even if the arms coudl be a bit more massive.
A 2D game in a 3D world?
Nice new figures not sure of the dynasty battle suite.
I’m not the biggest fan of GW trying to leverage boxed set sales by making the minis in them exclusive for a short period of time before individual release. In this case it’s just boring – would have loved to see some new guardsmen from an unknown regiment, or perhaps a pirate crew.
However, I will admit to some schadenfreude seeing the Primaris players emerging from the mountain of recent releases for their faction to complain that having waited months since these new Primaris were previewed, they now need to wait a few more months for the individual release.
I really like that Paragon Warsuit.
I like the paragon warsuit as well
OMG! Lots of cool stuff!
That new Kill team box is a must for me! It will complement my Indomitus box perfectly!
I wonder what sort of content will be in the rulebook. Did they say if this is the latest ‘Starter Set’ for KT or an expansion combining the rules for Elites and Commanders?
It looks more like an expansion/campaign set as they don’t show the core rulebook in there.
It’s also a kinda replacement for Kill Team: Arena, since that is no longer “In Print”. Note that the terrain has no real high elements – steps, walkways between towers, etc.
It definitely isn’t a new Starter Set as they do call it an expansion explicitly.
Cheers, I’ve been eying up the Elites book and Commanders expansion so I don’t want to buy them only to get all the rules with this set.
You’re welcome. To get a good picture of what is in the expansion, closer to preorder date Ash Barker of Guerrilla Miniature Games will likely have review of the expansion. This is likely to have a very good breakdown of the contents as he will probably get a copy from GW to help the hype. If you want a good perspective from the info out so far, I would recommend Glass Half Dead on YouTube. His reaction to the GW Preview can be found below. He also gives his thought on how this can tie into the Indomitus box and… Read more »
I got to say the Paragon makes sense since they can’t make Sisters of Battle just bigger like they did with Marines. So they just got Bigger Armor! The conversions people are going to come up with will be glorious.
