New T’au Empire Pre-Orders For 40K Fire Up This Week!
January 24, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop is lining up this weekend to be the start of brand new T'au Empire armies. Warhammer 40,000 players are going to be able to pick up the new T'au Empire Codex alongside a Combat Patrol set and more for the grimdark future.

Leading the way is the brand new Codex which comes with updated rules, strategems, warlord traits and other ways of making your own distinct T'au army. There are two flavours of Codex with the full art version available as well as the standard one.
The second of the releases is the new Combat Patrol. So, if you wanted to get started in Warhammer 40,000 then you can't go too far wrong than picking up the new Codex and the Combat Patrol here...
Combat Patrol: T'au Empire // Warhammer 40,000
This gives you a plastic Ethereal, Cadre Fireblade, Fire Warriors, Stealth Suits and the towering Ghostkeel Battlesuit. It seems pretty well balanced as an option for a Patrol-size game and (especially with independent store discounts) should come in cheaper than buying all of the components separately.
Greater Good Leaders
The aforementioned T'au Ethereal is also going to be available separately too. So, if you already have access to a T'au army then you now have another option for your next advisor.
T'au Ethereal // Warhammer 40,000
These commanding figures amongst the higher echelons of the T'au Empire are the ones that weave the threads of dominance and control over sectors of the galaxy. But, not every member of the T'au Empire listens to the advice of these leaders. For example, you have Darkstrider here!
Darkstrider // Warhammer 40,000
Darkstrider is ready to throw caution to the wind and head behind enemy lines in search of his next target. He is not one to listen to the counsel of others and has shirked the responsibility of leadership and advancement over the years in favour of sticking with his Pathfinders on the front lines. Perhaps this renegade would find a companion in the equally hot-headed Farsight?
New Accessories
If you want to pick up some additional T'au bits and bobs then how about the new Data Cards which give you all of the battlefield statistics without flipping through a book?
T'au Empire Datacards // Warhammer 40,000
These are going to be good for those who want access to the right strategems in the heat of battle. It will also be good for looking at the stats of your troops and their weapons. It might not be the best guide of points and power costs as they appear to be fluctuating quite a bit with this new "seasons" format from Games Workshop. I know my friends have found these very useful for other factions though.
There are also some new bespoke dice for those playing as the T'au...
T'au Empire Dice // Warhammer 40,000
These end up selling particularly quickly for certain factions. So, if you want to get your hands on some then you'll need to be quick out of the starting blocks on Saturday morning. These do look very nice. Simple and effective.
New Space Marines (You Can't Escape Them)
Rounding things off for next week, we also have a couple of new Space Marines for you to consider adding to your collection.
Space Marine Captain In Gravis Armour // Warhammer 40,000
The first of these is the Space Marine Captain In Gravis Armour. This is a heavily armed and armoured individual with options for a power sword, chainsword, the Teeth Of Terra Relic or just two power fists if you prefer. You can also give him three different helmet options.
You can also get your hands on the Space Marines Primaris Ancient carrying the standard of your favourite Chapter.

He can now be given a power sword which makes a lot of sense considering he will probably end up deep in the midst of combat. I'm not sure that even as a Space Marine I'd want to end up carrying a standard around with me. I'd prefer a boltgun.
Are you going to be snapping up a new army of T'au Empire warriors?

Holy moly look at the tiny drones! They are adorable (presumably as they kill you in terrible ways – the cutest grimdark battlefield death)
Nice I hope GW aren’t trying to RAILroad everyone into Tau worshipers.
Not bad at all for being released for blue fish aliens and some more Space Marines.
I can just imagine Darkstrider saying “fly my pretties fly”
