New Striking Scorpions Clash With Scouts Soon In Kill Team
December 11, 2023 by brennon
Games Workshop will soon take pre-orders for the newest set in the Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team line-up. Kill Team: Salvation sees the Space Marines battling with the Aeldari on Bheta-Decima and its towering platforms standing above roiling seas.

This new set sees the Aeldari Striking Scorpions (which are a new plastic kit) fighting against the Space Marines and a sneaky Adeptus Mechanicus Magos who have captured their Farseer. The Striking Scorpions are a welcome update, now available in plastic rather than Finecast as they had been previously.
Striking Scorpions - Blades Of Khaine // Warhammer 40,000
Going up against these brutal close combat killers, there is a set of new plastic Space Marine Scouts. They can be armed with all sorts of weapons from the classic Bolter through to heavier and more specialised weapons like Missile Launchers and Sniper Rifles.
New Space Marine Scouts // Warhammer 40,000
This should make them quite a versatile unit to use in Kill Team and regular games of Warhammer 40,000. It's a shame that the first time you'll be able to get these will be through the Kill Team set but hopefully, we'll see them pop up as a standard kit early next year. You should be able to do plenty with them to customise the kit too, matching them to your Chapter of choice.
As well as the miniatures for the Striking Scorpions and Scouts, you will also get five pieces of Mechanicus-specific terrain. There are also all of the Datacards and Tokens you'll need plus the Kill Team: Salvation manual which contains the expanded lore and rules. This does mean you'll have to use some of the terrain you have available in your collection OR you could pick up this...
Killzone: Bheta-Decima // Warhammer 40,000
This set allows you to build the rig complexes of Bheta-Decima that match the setting of the Kill Team: Salvation boxed set. The box comes with eighteen pieces of terrain including a Ferratonic Furnace. You'll also get objective markers and all of the gantry sections as well. This gives you a lot more height compared to past sets for Kill Team which should be fun when it comes to playing around different tactics in-game.
These new Kill Team sets will be available to pre-order from the 23rd December and will be released in stores and online in the new year.
Will you be picking this up?

Once someone pointed out how silly those ‘bridges’ look in the middle of nowhere, I can’t unsee it. It reminds me of a video game map where they had to add verticality for gameplay purposes, without any thought as to how and why certain terrain was where it was.
Surely even the Mechanicus doesn’t just build floating gantries just for the fun of it…
