October 18, 2021 by fcostin
Light up the coals - as Forge World's pre-orders are up on the table. Bringing Warhammer fans two new kits to reinforce their 40k armies, with a fresh set of Destroyers and a new Praetor awaiting to be enlisted into battle.
Legion MKIV Destroyer Squad // Forge World
The Legion MKIV Destroyer Squad are enlisted for a purpose of chaos and destruction, wielding taboo weaponry to level planets and take on all that stands in front of them. Although given a brutal reputation by their battle-brothers, their methods may be harsh and barbaric - but their effectiveness in achieving the mission stands at a high priority.
Sons of Horus Legion Praetor // Forge World
A commander of great skill is approaching for your Sons of Horus Legion, the Praetor is equipped with both the intelligence and brute force that would be expected at the forefront of any Space Marine Legion in the front line of battle.
Both the Sons of Horus Legion Praetor and the Destroyer Squad can be pre-order now from Forge World, with the Praetor sitting at £24 and the Destroyers at £38.
What do you think of the new Forge World pre-orders?

As always FW is doing HH Marines justice.
fab looking figures shame the FW ones are at silly money prices.
That praetor looks the business. Sadly it I were painting him he’d look like he was showing you round the Crystal Maze.
TO THE GRIMDARK ZONE!
what a throw back reference!
I suspect there might be a few people going “He looks nothing like Richard Ayoade”.
Showing my age – not that it’s any secret on here *shows gorganrd card*
They do look like a bunch of Riff Raff
Now I want a young Meat Loaf motorbike marine.

The FW minis look great, but so do the regular GW minis, and I don’t see enough of a difference between the resin and plastic to justify the big price jump (to be honest, I really don’t see *any* difference in quality). Seems like they could make these same high-detail minis in the cheaper plastic. I know there are a lot of folks who like to buy expensive wines, but honestly couldn’t tell the difference between expensive and cheap… Read more »
The point of forgeworld used to be, it allowed them to make more unique models with smaller runs. This allowed them to create titans and wird vehicles and the like. They use cheaper molds and material, so they’re actually of far lower quality. Some sculpts where pretty good, but best be prepared for warp and bubbles. But they can offer a bigger range this way. It can be worth it. I’ve recently sold some bigger FW models I bought years ago, since I’d not play with Titans and flyers and the like anytime ever I assume. But I kept my… Read more »
I prefer GW minis. The weapons on the GW devastator squad are much more eye catching than these bolt pistols and, whatever that thing the middle guy is carrying, that looks like a catalytic converter from a DAF truck.
