Games Workshop knows what the people want. Space Marines. We all love Space Marines and having more of them is the way forward. Why not start out 2023 with a new army of Space Marines to make sure that you've got an army of Space Marines to fight against your friends Space Marines in Warhammer 40,000? Was that too many Space Marines?

Shop Warhammer 40,000 @ Store.OnTableTop

There are four new Strike Force Battleforce Sets that you are going to be able to snap up when the new year rolls around, offering up the chance to play as four different Chapters. Leading the way, there are the Iron Hands who get to bring their own brand of mechanised warfare to the tabletop.

Iron Hands Strike Force Miniatures - Warhammer 40000

This set comes with not one but two Redemptor Dreadnoughts that are going to stride into the heart of battle. They are backed up by a Primaris Techmarine and the Iron Father himself, Feirros. There are also ten Intercessors that can be used to secure objectives and do the grunt work whilst the Dreadnoughts have all the fun.

If you want to switch up your brand of brutal battlefield murder then how about burning everyone to death with the Salamander Strike Force?

This set does core pretty darn right with a whole host of troops for you to use with your advancing force of Salamanders. No objective shall be safe from your flamers!

Miniature-wise, the set comes with Adrax Agatone (which I thought was a paint colour for a moment) alongside twenty Intercessors that can be armed with all manner of weapons to help you deal with the task at hand. Because of that flexibility, it allows you to really focus your army towards a particular core ideal.

You also have the Eradicators that can stomp into battle with their heavier weapons and the Aggressors who want to get up close and personal. Gravis Armour is the name of the day and will keep you going in the heat of combat. See what I did there?

If you prefer storming into battle on the back of a heavily armoured bike then how about going for the White Scars and their Strike Force?

White Scars Strike Force - Warhammer 40000

White Scars Strike Force // Warhammer 40,000

The White Scars excel at vehicular combat and a lot of their tactics revolve around screeching into the heart of battle with a hail of bullets coming out of land speeders and attack bikes.

This set comes with a bunch of Primaris Outriders for you to use at the heart of your speedy army. They can serve as protection as the Invader ATVs storm up the battlefield and look to hose down enemies with their heavier weapons.

Leading the way for this force, you also get a Primaris Chaplain on the back of a bike so that he can keep up with his Battle Brothers and make sure they are appropriately zealous. Despite the White Scars being a vehicle-based army, it seems their leader, Kor'sarro Khan, has decided to opt out (maybe he has saddle rash?) but will keep an eye on proceedings from afar it seems.

If you would like to tick off the poster boys and use them as your Space Marine Chapter of choice, there is also a new Ultramarines Strike Force on the way.

This features the boys in blue and gives you a solid grounding for making a pretty standard army of Space Marines that do a lot of different jobs well (that would please Guilliman).

This set comes with ten Intercessors who will be doing a lot of the grunt work plus ten Hellblasters who will be able to lay down covering fire. Three Bladeguard Veterans keep a watch on things when it comes to close combat and might even follow Marneus Calgar and his Victrix Guard into the heart of the action. Making sure that psychic dominance is assured, Chief Librarian Tigurius is also on the case.

All of these Strike Force sets are going to be available as the new year rolls around so make sure to keep an eye out for them if they have caught your eye. Whilst I jested earlier, these would be a great way to start a new army and get someone interested in playing Warhammer 40,000 (or perhaps Grimdark Future) with you.

Could this also be another one of those death knells for the original Firstborn Tactical Space Marines? I don't imagine the kits will be going anywhere as they can be useful with the Horus Heresy range but I wouldn't think we'll see much of those old kits as we move towards 10th Edition.

Which Strike Force has caught your eye?
