Exactly what I thought. It’s a bold move and statement by GW to go for something so perculiar and out of the blue in my opinion and for some reason I do actually like this. Quite alot.

It is a very nice model, the touch of having the Necron Warriors inside the rib cage like structure is a nice touch. It has a very strong Egyptian touch to it, so I guess that Necrons are now Tomb Kings in space.
From a rule and background point of view I’m a bit puzzled, the Necrons have mastered teleportation, so why do they have a transport?
If I get one I may just make it as the Dooms day ark.
They have always been tombkings in space, hence why they field scarab units etc.
Hate the transport, seems unimaginative and redundant given they have mastered the art of teleportation. Way too conventional. The gun-ark thing is goofy – a big gun with lots of guns? the Deathmarks look better and make more sense with the telescopic eye and sniper-role. The Command barge looks redundant too – the lord looks like he’s about to take a dark-matter dump or take a gauss-wee, and why they arent integrated into the machines themselves I don’t know.
I hope the other stuff is better, I hoped for more lovecraftian techno-horror machines, not boring tomb kings in spaaaaace.
I’m sure you’re right about the transport as it *is* GW but… at least in theory, you don’t know that that *isn’t* a teleporter or how Necrons teleport. They might have changed the game so that teleportation is based on having a command barge etc. Thus a manual transport (that might be a teleporter anyhow) would be useful.
That being said, ’cause it’s GW, you are probs right. Sadly.
If it is a teleporter, then the ‘Eavy Metal team missed a trick. They could have painted the Warriors with silver legs and glowy green torsos and heads to make it look like they were phasing in through the Ark.

Is it my eyes or do the warriors in the transport have a look of cybermen (the face in particular)
Ghost ark looks cool, teleport making it redundant aside. Doomsday ark, nope. Looks like you couldn’t follow the instructions for the ghost ark and all your troops fell off. I like the command barge and snipers though. Was the rumour not a big kit for 2 tomb spider type models? Saving the best for last? Big Robo-car carnifex/spider would be awesome.

Wouldn’t it be cooler if the crew somehow merged/plugged in with the wessel instead of just hitting a lot o buttons on a controlboard just like any other space marine?! If that controlboard gets coffe on it, how on earth are they supposed to replace it? I mean they do drink coffe don’t they? they seem to be doing just the same thing every other race (except nids) does. ie walk, talk, shoot guns, fly controlboard ships to get around. Soon they will even be playing video games and wearing power armour. Boooring
Oo. I like the new necron vehicles. Looks like at least 2 dual kits, the ghost ark and doomsday ark as one, the barges as the other. Ghost ark is my favourite, thought the pilot’s head is a little…off. Still, good stuff. 6th ed and necrons might be my in back to 40k.
This is my least favourite of all the new models. Maybe it looks better in reality. Gotta wait and see. It’s not bad, but nothing super as well. The Snipers are on top of my list. Overall I’m happy ‘crons are back in the game. I just hope the Codex is decent, as I want my brother in law hooked in even more than he is at the moment 🙂

You know how I know for certain the new codex was penned by Mat Ward? Look at the prow of the Ark (this is also true of the Command Barge) and what do you see…looks like half an upside-down Omega to me.
Now mirror it and paint it white and put it on a blue background.
Now realise the Ghost Ark has its Warriors carried in a whole row of these.
It seems they are pals with more than just the Blood Angels… 😉

I don’t know much about necrons so could someone please explain to me in laymans’ terms why the pilot of the Barge ark things are pointing?
They are right at the back of the boat steering and all their chums are in the keel rowing of something but can’t see the pointing pilot robot, nor where it is pointing to.
Is the pilot pointing for its own benefit?
I know c3po used to gesticulate but I would have thought ‘crons have little need for it.
Its the warhammer 40k universe.
The leader has to be pointing , to prove
a) hes the leader
b) he knows where hes going
c) its the only heroic pose they can manage to sculpt.
Its the law.

No. Just, no. I didn’t pick up this game because I said to myself “wow this is dumb” I started playing because I said to myself “wow this looks gritty.” Gritty might not be the perfect word I could use, but I damn well know that I didn’t play this game because I just love stupid. Did you? Really?
