New Necron Overlord Phases In To Warhammer 40,000
October 31, 2023 by brennon
A new miniature has been shown off by Games Workshop for those diving into the Necrons with their new Codex soon in Warhammer 40,000. This time, we're getting an updated Necron Overlord miniature featuring a rather funky sculpt that could be coming or going!

This new Necron Overlord is show with Translocation Shroud, phasing into reality and about to bring the pain to some poor foe that dared to step onto his Tomb World. The shroud that he's using allows him to simply add a full six inches to the Advance roll of any unit that he's in command of and allows him and his unit to move through terrain horizontally without incident. This means that if you can get these clankers into a good position then you could surprise your enemy when they think they're safe!

The miniature is particularly busy but I can see what the design team were going for with this miniature. It shows the Necron Overlord phasing in with plenty of negative space in the mix, achieving that effect. I do really like the way they have designed it but this feels more like a display piece than something for the gaming table. I'm sure that this will be one of those marmite miniatures that some will absolutely love whilst others really don't!
Will you be picking up this new Necron Overlord for your new 10th Edition army?

The overlord looks a bit cramped in there ….. seriously though the way they have done the round looks great, painting this will not be easy.
Very nice mini, bags of detail. I do wonder if we will ever see a Necron actually aiming a weapon instead of looking like they are either posing for a photo shoot or playing bass guitar for Metallica.
