Snap Up New 40K Grey Knight & Thousand Sons Combat Patrols
March 14, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop are going to be pitting the Grey Knights against the Thousand Sons this weekend with pre-orders for two new Combat Patrols firing up over the weekend. These offer up a great way to dive into Warhammer 40,000 as both factions.

Both of these sets have been designed to be Combat Patrol ready. That means they fit nicely into that entry-level nook for Warhammer 40,000 and should be reasonably well-matched against other Combat Patrols on the battlefield.
The Grey Knight set comes with a Librarian in Terminator Armour, five Grey Knights in Terminator Armour and then five grey Knights who can be built as a Strike, Interceptor, Purifier or Purgation Squad. You also get a Nemesis Dreadknight which should be able to deal with most of your problems!
Maybe you want to tread the path of sorcery? You can also pick up the Thousand Sons Combat Patrol.

Leading the way for this set you get an Infernal Master and five Scarab Occult Terminators that form his bodyguard. You also get twenty Tzaangors that can be used as your fodder and to claim objectives on the battlefield. This Combat Patrol brings together some interesting elements of the Thousand Sons combining their eternal and ever-living might with the changeable forces of Tzeentch.
Mighty Warhammer 40,000 Characters
As well as the two new Combat Patrol sets, the folks at Games Workshop are also going to be releasing two characters to match up with these factions. Grey Knight players will now be able to add the plastic Castellan Crowe to their armies.
Castellan Crowe // Warhammer 40,000
This new miniature for Castellan Crowe was originally available in a boxed game but is now going to be available for everyone to snap up. He comes with that mighty arcane sword and all of the regular trappings of a Grey Knight. I do like a good book.
We also have the Infernal Master that was pictured in the Combat Patrol above. If you already have a sorcerous legion then you'll want to snap him up and add him to your glittering ranks.

All of these miniatures are going to be made available for you to snap up this weekend via pre-order. So, it won't be long until you can dive into more grimdark wargaming on the tabletop with these psykers from opposite ends of the spectrum.
Are you going to be snapping this up?

The gray knights look good but I’m not sure of the super tall walker bit of a missile magnet but perhaps that’s what it’s for?
I really like the look of Castellan Crowe, I may just pick him up to paint. Watched a nice Youtube video where they painted him a really lovely blue silver.
Once I buy him of course I will then record a video just to whinge about the price – as is standard these days.
Dirty big business trying to make a profit!
I was planning to buy GK one before price hike was announced but now I am not sure if want to start new 40k army with current prices.
Im just going to say it… buying the Grey knights combat box at the new price point is a truly moronic investment of your hobbie dollars. Period. End of story.
And no, you can never change mind. It was a bad choice before, now its just idoitic.
Grey Knight models look like they would be fun to paint. Way out of my price range though.
