New Ebon Keshig Scythe Their Way Through Their Foes
June 22, 2019 by brennon
Forge World has shown off a new unit of Terminators for those playing White Scars. These Ebon Keshig Tartaros-clad warriors of the Horus Heresy are coming to ruin your day.
"Made up of warriors seeking atonement and redemption for sins and breaches of honour, the Ebon Keshig would always be at the forefront of high-intensity conflicts. Clad in black ceramite, they were instantly recognisable as formidable warriors to both the enemy and their brothers. Acting as a shield to the more fragile contingents of the White Scars, those Ebon Keshig who survived were deemed to have proved themselves worthy in the eyes of the Legion."
I always like any force within an army which is looking to atone for something, be it a slight or terrible sin. I really liked it in the case of the Slayers of Dwarfen heritage and it's cool to see it here with the White Scars too. It's not just the Blood Angels who get themselves a team of walking-dead soldiers!
These soldiers are then armed with powerful glaives which will reap a deadly toll on the battlefield. As mentioned in their background, you will most likely find these soldiers at the front of a force, protecting those behind them with their bodies whilst also cutting down anyone who dares to come close.
I think this is a super cool unit and I'd love to see them in a diorama, surrounded by the dead and their own fallen comrades.
What do you think of this new kit?

White Scars were painting their Terminators funny colours before it went mainstream.
Ok, unpopular opinion here but I think those models look drop dead stupid. Like someone replaced the torso armour with an old stove or kettle.
Maybe the White Scars just like a wee cup of tea when they are on the march! I agree, not the best Terminators I have ever seen.
Also Terminators used to being massive beasts doesn’t lend very well to the absurd dynamic poses
They must be the GTI version?
@sundancer I believe the old Tartaros Pattern of Terminator armour is a more lightweight suit compared to the Cataphract Pattern armour and modern Indomitus suits.
They have a nice steampunk look to them
Not enough cogs for that 😉
If you ask someone who has never seen any 40k figures ever before, their going to tell you, “They all look alike to me”. Trust me I know. I recently bought my ‘Digital Ticket’ for the ‘Hobby Weekend’ coming up in the near future. So I’ve been trying to get some others interested in joining me here locally and when I show them the minis they say, “Why do they all look so much alike”? They couldn’t even distinguish between 30k and 40k. One guy looked at me and laughed and said,”With all that armor and clunky looking as it… Read more »
True.
Those HH era White Scars Terminators sure look a lot like Black Templars. Even that stupid looking upper torso looks more like Black Templar style.
A great looking set of assault Marines for storming siege fortification’s.
I kind of like the poses they’ve got.
However their armor makes it look like they need to wee…
They’d look better to me just painted white and the ” Ebon Keshig ” being their title within the Scars,i do love that mark of termie armour a lot.Maybe, just maybe,i’ll have to revisit one of my SM armies with a few of the Tartoros suits…
They do suffer from the extra “wide childbearing hips” issue that all Terminators and Space Marines suffer from however. They’d be no use trying to catch a runaway pig down a ginnel 😀
Not really a fan of any of the “older” Termie armour variants. I prefer bulldog face Terminators aesthetically
