Hunt The Fallen With New Dark Angels & Space Marine Releases
January 25, 2021 by brennon
Games Workshop are not letting up on the Space Marine releases it seems as the Dark Angels get their Codex Supplement this weekend. Pre-orders will be going live for this new book and a bunch of Space Marine kits to help you with your hunt for The Fallen in Warhammer 40,000.

The Dark Angels Codex comes with all of the gubbins that you might expect. You'll find updated rules throughout which allow you to tailor your Space Marine force to match that of the grim and dour Dark Angels who are always on the hunt for their traitor brothers.
Next to the Black Templars and Space Wolves, I think that the Dark Angels are my other favourite Chapter. I love their narrative and a lot of their characters really help reinforce that Sci-Fi knight aesthetic which draws so many to the Space Marines as a faction.
To aid you in your hunt, Games Workshop is also releasing a new Combat Patrol set.
Dark Angels Combat Patrol // Warhammer 40,000
This set has been designed, as you might have guessed, to be used as a Combat Patrol force. It comes with a Primaris Chaplain, Redemptor Dreadnought, Inceptors and Intercessors. This should give you a pretty solid foundation on which to build your army of Dark Angels.
New Space Marines
As well as the Dark Angels and their specific releases we also got a peek at more core Primaris options for these Angels Of Death.
Bladeguard Veterans // Warhammer 40,000
The Bladeguard Veterans get their full release with a kit packed to the gills with options for making unique and different looking Space Marines. If you're looking for melee specialists then this is the place to start.
If you prefer turning things to heaps of smouldering slag from range then you've also got the Primaris Eradicators.
Primaris Eradicators // Warhammer 40,000
Clad in the heavy Mark X Gravis armour, these Space Marines are all about busting open tanks and making sure that your enemy is put in their place. Each soldier is armed with a deadly melta rifle or heavy melta rifle as standard but they can also be given a Multi-Melta for when things really need to be finished off.
Lastly, for the Space Marines at least, we have the Storm Speeder.
Storm Speeder // Warhammer 40,000
The Land Speeder has been an iconic part of the Space Marine range for a long, long time but this is the newest upgrade from Belisarius Cawl. The Storm Speeder can be built in three different ways allowing it to focus on a particular job role. Maybe you want it to mow down infantry? Perhaps you like the idea of it carving a tank in half?
Don't Forget The Necrons!
As the designated "big bad" of this current edition, the Necrons are also getting another new release this weekend. Here we have the Psychomancer.
Psychomancer //Warhammer 40,000
Psychomancers are unique amongst the Necrons as they are able to overload and confound their foes with metal onslaughters (or so the blurb says!). I would imagine this is like throwing a spanner in the works but on a much larger scale.
I do really like the miniature for this particular release and I think it feeds nicely into the idea that the Necrons have a bit more personality to them as a faction. It's also another miniature which breaks up the metallics even more and gives you the chance to have a crack at a bit of object source lighting perhaps?
Are you going to be picking up more Warhammer 40,000 this weekend?

The eradicators look good.
Dark Angels are coming but still no sign of Lion returning. They really want to keep Grandaddy Smurf as only loyalist Primarch in 40k do they. How ever it’s nice to see Bladeguard Veterans finally getting proper release.
Psychomancer and Blade Guard are great.
Still no Orks?
Good luck playing with that necron-thing without breaking his finger, or anything else! :p
Can you guys not collate your GW news into fewer posts? The news page has recently been reading like one big GW advert and its starting to wear a bit thin
FINALLY!!! I’ve been looking forward to the official release of the Bladeguard for a long time now! (Not a fan of the totally-not-Chaos-following chapter, but I’ll take what I can get!)
Great Psychomancer!
The Bladeguard Veterans kit is full of interesting bits! Already have 3 of them with the Indomitus box and the entire primaris in it to assemble so, they will have to wait!
Oh Crimson Fists, poster boys of 1st edition, how I miss you 🙂
The Lion won’t return as he is still locked up somewhere in the Rock.
If they did let him out finally ,Dark angels would be a Chaos Chapter as he read SO many old tomes on sorcery.
Cypher is out there gathering information to destroy Chaos ( If you know your self and your enemy you cannot taste defeat.)
