February 23, 2024 by brennon
Games Workshop has revealed a new Combat Patrol for those diving into playing the Dark Angels in Warhammer 40,000. This new set will be available to pre-order this weekend and rules will be included in the new Codex and online at a later date.
New Dark Angels Combat Patrol // Warhammer 40,000
Shop Warhammer 40,000 @ Store.OnTableTop
This Combat Patrol for the Dark Angels is led by Master Zachariel who is a Captain wearing Gravis Armour. He is armed with a deadly Boltstorm Gauntlet and a Relic Chainsword. He leads a squad of ten Intercessors as well as dive Hellblasters and three Bladeguard Veterans. You have the hammers and the anvils of your Dark Angels force here.
Dark Angels - Captain Enhancement // Warhammer 40,000
As with all of the Combat Patrols, it comes with particular rules for pitting it against other Combat Patrols. That means its own unique set of Enhancements and Strategems which give the the flavour of the Dark Angels. You'll also get certain special rules to dive into as well as secondary objectives for you to focus on.
Dark Angels - Epic Deed Strategem // Warhammer 40,000
This set comes with the miniatures mentioned above plus you also get two of the updated Dark Angels Primaris Upgrade sprues so you can tailor this force to match your growing Dark Angels force. This is great for those wanting to dive in and just play Combat Patrol with a small force of Space Marines but it also works as a good launch pad for your larger army.
You don't have to run these as Dark Angels either. Just ignore the upgrades and the paint scheme and use them for an entirely different Chapter!
Will you be scooping this set up?

Is it just me or do those space marines look like they have been really badly photoshopped onto that background scenery?
Apart from the wrong captain to attach to a squad, from a gaming perspective I like this as a starting point with Marines. All the focus on financial value behind boxes sometimes misses the point.
