New Plastic Battle Sister Available On Warhammer Day
June 11, 2019 by brennon
Games Workshop has announced that the first of the plastic Sisters Of Battle, also known as the Adepta Sororitas, is going to be available at Warhammer Day on June 29th.
Sister Superior Amalia Novena will be available alongside an A4 art piece showing the impressive work by Karl Kopinski alongside a Datasheet showing the rules for a Battle Sisters Squad and the Sister Superior so you can use her in games of Warhammer 40,000 if you like.
She will be available in stores so if you want a copy of her you'll want to be there very early when they open. However, if you aren't able to get a hold of her on June 29th you will also be able to order her from their online store too.
I am really liking the style for the new Sisters Of Battle. They have managed to retain a lot of what was great about the old models whilst also giving them a modern update too. They look like they are ready to kick ass and take names...and burn a few heretics as well should the need arise.
Will you be snapping this new miniature up?

Darren Latham has done a good job on this mini. The base is a little OTT for my tastes but the candles would be a very handy for sticking on an altar or a wizard’s table.
I really feel like they’re dragging this one out. I would’ve expected a full squad rather than a single unit leader at this stage.
I’m pretty sure plastic battle sisters were ‘on the horizon’ last time I played 40k, sometime back around the launch of 6th edition.
I think it’s very much a case of them ‘getting it right’ – they could very easily have screwed this up so it probably behoves them to take their time and look for the right time to release this army.
Also, we don’t know just how much they’ve had to go in and rework and they probably want to try and make it so you can run with a proper full army when they finally release.
I’ve no doubt those are all good points and I would hope they are redoing pretty much everything as that range is looking very dated now (but still fantastic models).
However I think it’s more about priorities. We’ve seen a hell of a lot of new stuff come out of GW in the past 5 years so we know they can do it if they want to. It feels to me that these ladies are very much on the back burner.
There will be a big, full range release all at once. GW won’t release anything (other than the odd special release) until they can properly launch the range
I would’ve thought Kill Team would be a great way to introduce these back to the universe.
That would be a small release and would cause one to (1) Not be able to field a full proper army and (2) would give third party miniature makers a chance to cash in on GWs designs before they released a full army
That looks looks really great. I might have to buy it.
A great looking figure I think the canoness Veridyan looks just as good.
This must be torture for the Sisters fans out there. Come on GW, stop teasing, do the proper launch!
doesn’t torture me, I’ve more than I can field 😉
Same. I’ve no desire to get into the Sisters, as it were.
I reckon I will be getting this. Lovely looking miniature just as something to paint.
The Sister rollout is painfully slow. Nothing beats (near) instant gratification.
Again, the Raging Heroes ones look a lot better IMO
Well, this is only one mini that has been annonced for release so far. Its a bit early to be calling it.
I agree with you @cpauls1
Very nice!! I will be picking this one up.
This has been a LONG wait and the tease this last year has felt like GW giving one last finger before releasing a product line that should have come out several additions ago. That said they are trying to get a fan base to buy new models who have been content with models that are now 20+ years old. We Sisters players are far more fluff than meta and so a bit more demanding of look and feel than of playability yet this wait, and the way codexes have been handled this edition, has made a competitive SoB army very… Read more »
I guess raging heroes will stop making them when people stop buying them. They’re obviously still making money off them because they keep turning more out. I guess it’s not a question of whether such models should not exist and more a question of you not wanting them to exist. One of these two potions is a need, the other is a want and they’re not the same
