Aeldari Phoenix Lords Return To Warhammer 40,000!
November 25, 2024 by brennon
The last few days saw some awesome reveals for Warhammer 40,000 from Games Workshop. One such reveal was the return of the mighty Phoenix Lords to the Aeldari! Brand new plastic miniatures are on the way to support the launch of the 10th Edition Codex early next year in 2025.
Asurman // Warhammer 40,000
Leading the way is the first of the Dire Avengers (who unfortunately don't get a new plastic set in 10th Edition) and the teacher of the other Phoenix Lords. This mighty warrior is the right hand of Asuryan and the linchpin for many Aeldari forces, protecting Craftworlds across the galaxy. He now has an excellent new miniature, staring down his next foe with sword and shuriken catapults at the ready.
Next up, we have my favourite of the Phoenix Lords. Baharroth will be soaring onto the battlefield alongside his Swooping Hawks. Baharroth was one of the first metal miniatures I ever picked up for my Eldar army back in the day and I have always liked both the miniature and his lore.

Baharroth now gets a superb new miniature that will be swooping down from the skies to destroy the enemy wherever they are on the battlefield. Whilst Baharroth might find himself soaring into the air and attacking the enemy lines from afar, Fuegan is ready to take to the front lines and burn holes through enemy armour.
Fuegan // Warhammer 40,000
We saw the miniature for Fuegan a few weeks ago as the miniature was leaked on Reddit! I have a lot of old metal Fire Dragons that might require a new leader. I think the scale might end up being very off considering the time between their original release and now!
The last of the newly revealed Phoenix Lords is Lhykhis. Until now, we hadn't seen a miniature for the Warp Spiders Phoenix Lord but she is now ready to take to the Webway and strike from where you least expect her!
Lhykhis // Warhammer 40,000
Whilst Baharroth is my favourite Phoenix Lord, I have to agree with the majority of the internet in that Lhykhis is a stunning sculpt. There are some great vibes of Spider-Man and Venom in the sculpt and paint scheme that should be fun to recreate.
Each of the Phoenix Lords above will also be getting some brand new plastic Aspect Warriors (apart from the Dire Avengers). The Swooping Hawks are looking as glorious as ever...

...and the Fire Dragons are getting ready to melt their enemies into slag. I like that each of the newer plastic sets from Games Workshop come with little Shrines that you can use to note that you've taken objectives.

The Warp Siders are also back with their fascinating backpacks and armour that allow them to seamlessly flickering through reality and appear where you least expect them.

New plastic Aspect Warriors have been a long time coming and it's great that the new 10th Edition Codex will see the Court Of The Young King realised on the tabletop. Biel-Tan Craftworlds are going to be very happy.
This means that all of the different Aspect Warriors now have plastic sets. The Dire Avengers remain an older kit but each of the others are brand new, either as Kill Teams or regular Warhammer 40,000 boxed sets. All of the Phoenix Lords have also been covered now apart from the one for the Shining Spears and Karandras who was seemingly forgotten by Games Workshop during the Striking Scorpions release.
New Codex Coming Soon
Brand new rules will be included as part of the new 10th Edition Codex.
Codex: Aeldari // Warhammer 40,000
There will be eight different Detachments in the new Codex including the Seer Council, Windrider Host, Ghosts Of The Webway, Devoted Of Ynnead and the Aspect Host. We were also told that we'd see new Detachments for the likes of Iyanden. My Wraith army can become a reality!
What do you make of the new Phoenix Lords and do you have a favourite?

My brother collected the original Eldar models, and I got the honour of painting all of the Exarchs for him, got to admit these look like lovely updates.
Beautiful models.
Long time coming
Really nice updates. Eldar were my second 40k army in 2nd edition. Classics.
Man…I haven’t played 40k in a decade, barely purchase anything from GW BUT these are fantastic! Maybe it’s just the nostalgia from my original eldar army way back in ’89 or ’90 but these are calling my name. I’d never collect an entire army or play the game again but buying these to paint is a very real possibility.
I liked the aspect warrior concept when they first appeared in White Dwarf.
Never got around to buying any of them.
If any faction ever deserved is own unique book it’s got to be the Eldar.
Orks had one.
Chaos had the infamous ‘Realms of Chaos’ duo.
Such a shame the codex is likely to be as soulless (ha!) as the rest of them have been since the Ork lore got reduced to a single special ability per subfaction and even Chaos became yet another faction.
Eldar are easily defeated by low ceilings.
Sadly the only Aspect Warrior Shrine outstanding a Pheonix Lord is my favourite, the Striking Scorpions. I’m tempted to believe the rumours that either GW forgot or the sculptors assumed another sculptor was working on it.
