More Mechanicus This Week & New Command Tanks For Space Marines
May 13, 2015 by brennon
We've got a double dose of information for you today about a range of different releases coming out over the next week or so. As most of you will know this weekend marks the re-opening of Warhammer World and that comes with some special boons from Games Workshop including Exclusives for them like these new Space Marine Command Tanks on top of the upcoming Adeptus Mechanicus...
HQ On The Move
The tanks below are going to be exclusive to Warhammer World and either hint at them revealing a new Codex (notice the Adeptus Astartes title) sometime down the line or updates from within White Dwarf as to how they play out on the tabletop.
They will be available after the event but this will be your first chance to pick them up over the weekend. Personally I think they look a bit silly and while I imagine there are plenty of times when a Commander would take his leadership mobile like this I can't help feeling that they look a tad stupid.
I half expected Stan Lee to pop out of the top of the Land Raider...
Mechanicus Soon!
As well as the tanks there is more from Games Workshop themselves as they have both the new Cult Mechanicus Codex up for pre-order this weekend and the Kataphron Battle Servitors which we saw on a poster a couple of weeks ago now.
You can check out the cover art for the Codex and the Servitors HERE.
Will you be heading to the Warhammer World Open Day?

They look like they were covered in glue and dunked in a bitz box.
I’m not seeing a big difference between these and the vehicles that are already out there, except for the mast array. Couldn’t that be sold as an accessory? How hard would it be to make that?
Love the suspension on the vehicle on the right. You couldn’t go off a curb without getting a concussion.
It is 40k. Realism has never been a thing.
And the land raider carries dudes in power armor, i doubt they would be phased by a bumpy ride.
True enough on both counts 🙂 .
A rather large glaring reason why I’ve taken a step away from 40k. Which is really starting to become a sprint!
Given the perennial negative comments on the GW stuff here, I often wonder why BoW even bothers to cover it. Yes, yes … for mini/war gaming GW is still sort of the big kid on the block. But no one seems to care here really. I generally look to other sources to follow GW anyway. I’m no big fan of them anymore, but I occasionally pick up models here and there to use with other systems. I still have a tacit interest in what they are doing, etc. I suppose GW represents auto click bait on a site like BoW… Read more »
We tend to actually quite like most of the new GW stuff too which is more often than not why we post it. We’re totally in love with the new Adeptus Mechanicus stuff for example – can’t wait to see what else they come out with for them.
BoW Ben
Kardashian has one redeeming attribute, which GW does not have…boobs. And yes, I dislike GW massively. But that’s not a problem, I’ve found various other games that I DO enjoy so I’m still entertained. The reason GW gets some flak is possibly because they deserve it.
GW the company, not the average staff member is delusional. In some ways you got to pity the sad attempts to revitalise the company but be utterly angry at them for clear and simple solutions that everyone can see right in front of their noises.
Think I’ll be able to convert a standard vehicle be it a landraider or rhino and make it look better.
Interested to see what the rules are like in the new dex though.
Why does the vehicle on the left have a bunch of bongs sitting in the back? Serious question
What are bongs??
Do you mean for smoking the old hash browns??
……if so good spot man, peace 🙂
Maybe they are planning on hotboxing the Rhino??, not that i know what that means dude 😉
Maybe it is a new hearts and minds initiative
Hahaha thanks, I cant un-see the bongs now! “for the Empooo…rroo….wait were we going somewhere?”
In the armored back seat of the far future there are only boooongs 😉 according to the fluff its the only way to get space marines to remove their helmets, thus looking cooler .. wich is priority in the dark millenium!
Gotta say I’m kinda angry that after waiting so long I bought the Admec book when it came out. Just to find out it had no HQs with only seven units in the entire book. Now they have a new book coming out. Will this one be the other half of the codex i thought I bought?
OMG, really? That’s a new low for GW.
I don’t think a SM could get stoned – wouldn’t their special lungs filter out any ‘toxins’? Poor bastards!
Thats what happens when you have too many different people writing fluff for 40k
It’s the future, where hash is routinely combined with an anti-anti-toxin, so that space marines can feel the full effect.
“Quick, find a drive-thru! I could eat a burger the size of my head! No… make that fifteen Happy Meals! Ba da ba ba… ba!”
That’s exactly how it happened!
When the land raider smashed through the ranks of Eldar guardians, grinding them beneath heavy tracks, the assault ramp drops with whir of heavy servos. No troops emerge, just a thick cloud of funny-smelling smoke and the sound of Jefferson Airplane!
Just got to find out which marine is ‘whopper jnr.’
In game this manifests as squad popping smoke every turn, can always snap-fire-rapid-fire (roll to determine target unit, even friendlies) and has a 2+ invuln save for being “too stoned to care”. On a 3+ upon disembarking from transport the squad ‘falls over’ (counts as pinned) and starts laughing on a 4+ which keeps the unit pinned for another round. If the squad is still alive at the end of the last turn, on the roll of a 2+ unit owner gains 4 extra vp:s because of special rule ‘just having a laugh’.
