The Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator Powers Up From Forge World
December 4, 2015 by brennon
Forge World have gone big once again with the Mechanicum Ordinatus Ulator. If you want to blast something into a heap of slag then I think this is the way to do it. As the description of it says, it's one of the most potent weapons in the Imperial arsenal...
"In the time of the Great Crusade the Ordinatus macro engines were rarer than even the Battle Titans of the Legio Titanica, and only a handful of Forge Worlds had the resources or indeed the doctrinal blessing and religious authority to produce or maintain such embodiments of the Omnissiah’s divine wrath.
Such was the sacredness of these machines above all others, that an entire subcult of the Mechanicum was devoted to their worship and propitiation."
Volkite Culverins are this warmachines secondary armaments on the sides of the vehicle which are devastating in their own right but the main weapon is the Sonic Destructor which generates a 'wave of annihilation' which rips apart anything its way. I don't imagine I'd want to see what it could do...
I'm not entirely won over by the design of this and I think it looks like something that would have appeared in Thunderbirds rather than finding a place in the Horus Heresy. I'm sure that others will feel very different about this and want it in their life but I think for me it just looks a bit too weird.
What do you think?

Its a big old silly ray gun… I love it!!
Silly, awesome and weirdly gothic in equal measure – in other words, classic Mechnicum/Mechnicus. 🙂
Same here, it almost has a Nikola Tesla/steampunk wimsy about it.
I love it. This is exactly the sort of thing I pictured when the ad-mech would turn up in the Black Library novels.
I was wondering when the Ordinatus would turn up…
These were around in Epic many many moons ago:

Expect more variants soon.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Ray gun itself is really good but I am not so sure about that platform.
It looks like mediocre kitbash.
Great for a steampunk game.
looks even better painted.
it duse remind of a thunderbird machine but?
£285.00p so is it not a scratch build in the making not even a massively over complex build. I had in the past had tons of stuff from FW. Now so silly moneys, what amazes me is that it will probably sell out. Even at a £70.00p cost to make it very close to the original build, that would be 4 for the price of one and you could always buy tea, sweeteners and 4 pints of milk to last the three days to possibly complete all four with the remaining £5 change. Hey-ho!

It looks daft. I want one!
It’s a bit out of my price range at the moment though sadly.
Am I the only one who thinks it looks like a Victorian ‘hysteria machine’? (Google it if you don’t know what I’m talking about!)
