Mars-Alpha Pattern Warlord Titan Up for Pre-Order On Forge World

Calling all of you die hard Warhammer 40K / Horus Heresy fans if you are looking for your next BIG purchase, well now is the time to order. Forge World has up for pre-order the Mars-Alpha Pattern Warlord Titan. As described on Forge World's website...
"The colossal Mars pattern Warlord Titan is among the most ancient and feared of the Imperium’s war machines. Forged on the Red Planet itself, it is worshipped and venerated as the Omnissiah’s will incarnate, and each god-engine is encased in layered armour and powerful void shielding, and armed with weapons that are capable of reducing armies to ash."
I will admit it is a beautiful model and whether you are a Warhammer player or not, it would be a really nice piece to own. I must say it would be a interesting challenge and something I would take a very long time to paint.
I just not sure how a model of this size plays on a table with 28mm minis as it stands almost 2 feet tall. The biggest (pun intended) roadblock is the price, it is some players entire yearly budget of gaming.
Would you buy this if you could?

I absolutely love this model, but there’s no way I’ll ever own one short of winning the lottery.
Come on! They deliver it for free! ;D
That makes it a bargain, only works out about £6 per part lol.
That is really impressive.
I love that thing, if I didn’t have kids I’d buy that without a second thought, but I always have something else more worthwhile for the money to go. As far as costs go, I would imagine that is easily a years work to build and paint, 1000 hours for £1000 or so is not too bad.
Hugely impressive model, incredible detail on what seems to be just a big brute at first glance.
I am completely enraptured with all things robotic in dimension and looks, right back to the very early space race inspired Japanese tin, some of which if you have the box you can now sell and purchase more than on of the big ass things! I however will not nor would I purchase one now I am furnished with some very good shots of the same, I think around a maximum of 50 of your earth pounds should cover the costs and it shall be so, I’ll take a couple of picts as it builds, I always was stuck around… Read more »
If the guns tracked your movement, yes this could scare people away for your security system.
Funny guy. 😉
If miniature/games companies would stop releasing so much cool stuff I might have a chance of saving the cash for one of those bad boys.
Now, that’s what I call a “miniature”, but you probably have to sell one of your kidneys to afford to buy it.
Very cool and totally impractical for gaming. Love it! Certainly far too expensive for me but I am sure someone will scare their pets with it. 😀
Pets?
I’m sure you could scare off a burglar with that thing!
GW just suceeded in making me want to give them all my money for the first time in six years. I think between saving and my credit card I could maybe afford it, only problem is my wife would get half in the divorce 🙁
Ohmygodohmygodohmygodwantwantwamtwantwantwantnownownownow… Oosshh.
I’ve been following Chuffy building one of these that he picked up at the opening of Warhammer World it’s incredibly impressive, and I’d really love the challenge of building and painting one, but the price point is really quite terrifying.
if only I had the money I’d have one in a second.
Should say following on youtube! It’s worth looking up, for those who are thinking about getting one, there are some really useful build tips.
As much as I love this, I’m saving my cash for when Forgeworld finally pull out all the stops and release an Emperor class Warlord. The cover art for the old PC game Final Liberation has always been one of my favourite pieces of 40K artwork and the sheer absurdity of something so big it had a fortress bristling with cannons on it’s shoulders is just fantastic.
It’s big, it’s shiney and expensive and your pride and joy. Therefore it will die early in the game Those are the unwritten rules whatever game you play.
Not my cup of tea but bloody impressive.
I might get 2. One to keep and one to melt down coz I’m Oprah rich.
I would love to have a piece of plastic that costs more than my car did. But if I had that kind of money on hand, I might sell my car and pool the cash for a better car.
I’m saving for the release of the Imperator class Titan. Go on Forge World, do it: it means that I don’t have to use my five year old as a reluctant stand in during apocalypse games…
