See Lynthorpe Farm In Summer & Winter With Heroic Maps
September 7, 2015 by brennon
If you're looking for a rural setting in which to fight out your next skirmish then how about the new East Lynthorpe Farm which comes in two flavours from Heroic Maps - Summer & Winter.
Summer
Each of the maps contains details like fields, hedgerows, stone walls and a small farmstead with a bridge over the river that runs through the middle of the map.
The detail work on the maps is quite high and gives you a nice clear playing surface for you to print off and play with. I could see this being fun for use with any tabletop games set around World War II.
Winter
Of course that's not the only use and you could always take a look at using it for role-playing. Maybe your heroes have been sent to the farm to check on the occupants and drive of some bandits.
I do prefer the winter map but then again I always like winter locations over anything else. I think the ability to tell great narrative stories can be heightened by the natural aspects that winter brings into play.
The clouded breath before your face, the hungry warmth of being indoors against the elements and the stark contrast of blood red on the white snow when you get into combat.
Which map do you prefer?
