The Leviathan Siege Dreadnought Gets A Horus Heresy Plastic Kit
June 9, 2022 by brennon
Building on the array of plastic kits for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy, Games Workshop showed off the big new kit for the Leviathan Siege Dreadnought last week! Are you going to be adding this to your collection?

If you are into your Dreadnoughts and already have a lot of Contemptors in your collection then you might want to take the next step with the Leviathan. Whereas the Contemptor is part melee machine and part gun platform, the Leviathan is all gun platform.

There are some interesting ranged options in the posable kit including the Grav-Flux Bombard, Cyclonic Melta Lance and the Storm Cannon. You can also build on this with integrated hull weapons like the Heavy Flamers and the Twin-Linked Volkite Calivers. If that isn't enough guns, you can also throw a Phosphex Discharger into the mix. What do all of these guns do? Melt Space Marines probably.
Kratos Heavy Assault Tank In 40K!
As well as the preview of the Leviathan Siege Dreadnought, we also got some rules for using the Kratos Heavy Assault Tank in games of Warhammer 40,000.

The rules for the Kratos Heavy Assault Tank can be found HERE. You can download the free PDF Data Slate and start using these alongside your armies of Space Marines. It would be quite novel nowadays to have a proper tracked vehicle in your Space Marine army.
I'm sure that there will be all manner of interesting Warhammer: The Horus Heresy releases in the next few weeks, especially for the other factions taking place in this galaxy-spanning war. Have you been dragged into The Horus Heresy yourself?

I see the leviathan and raise you the Beheamoth Dread Walker. A IMHO much nicer looking “mini”. Also pose-able arms

I disagree that looks nicer than the Leviathan. That Dread Walker (Imho) is one of the most generic looking things I have saw.
I doubt I will buy the Leviathan either mind – if I were to get one I would prefer to buy a legion specific Forgeworld one.
You are free to disagree since “beauty lies in the eye of the beholder” (why it’s in an eye from a D&D monster I never understood) Personally I like the fact that the BDW is more poseable, has an actual “pilot” in it and options. But that is all down to personal preference I guess. 🙂
I thought the same. Kromlech normally put out amazing detailed models I was surprized to find this was a model they made because it is so plain. Dont get me wrong it is a nice model. However it is resin so it will be expensive, kitbashing it a little more difficult. I dont get the market they are going after with it. I do wonder if it is a base version they might start to do add on bits for it.
I’ll get one as I ‘love’ the aesthetic of the Leviathan, but am hoping they eventually put out the sprue for the CC arms – Siege Claws and Siege Drills – as they look aces on the resin version (I have a 50/50 loadout on a Leviathan for my Deathwatch – Hailstorm Cannon, Siege Claw with Meltagun, 2x Heavy Flamers and 3x HK Missiles. Drop it in and watch it go to work)
The dreadnought looks a big brouser for the battlefield.
I love the Leviathan (I am a dreadnought person after all). I can barely contain my tears of joy. I am not sold on the Kratos though. I find the other Forgeworld heavy tanks better looking (I forget their names at the moment).
I wonder if they’ll port everything to plastic. The big lads (Fellblade is one, I don’t remember the others either) will be pretty dashed niche even in plastic.
I really want a Fellblade even with no use for one whatsoever ?
That makes two of us. The strange thing is I don’t even know why I want one – I am definitely not playing this game, buuuuuuuuuuut…..I still want a plastic Fellblade.
There’s a danger I’ll settle for a resin one one day
It’s nice to see more HH vehicles get plastic kits.
I have a dream one day someone will make the ABC warriors in this sacale but for now this will do !!!
