Meet The Kâhls Of Warhammer 40K’s Leagues Of Votann
August 16, 2022 by brennon
Games Workshop had yet to show us any of the HQ choices coming to Warhammer 40,000's Leagues Of Votann. Until now! We got a look at the Kâhl that are going to be leading the way for the Votann on the battlefields of the grimdark future.

This is going to be a new multi-part plastic kit that comes packed with different weapon options for you to choose from. Whilst I would normally lambast the use of "foot on rock", I feel like it works quite well considering the nature of the Votann and their mining heritage.
These Kâhl are mighty war leaders that are as good on the front lines as they are at the back of the battlefield offering tactical advice. I would imagine they prefer to be in the heart of the action though with plasma axes and power fists at the ready.

This also marked the first time we saw the Votann in anything other than teal armour. The teal belongs to the Greater Thurian League whilst the red is the colour of the Ymyr Conglomerate.
I quite like the design of the miniature as a whole. It has plenty of those neat Dwarven/Norse vibes going on across its design. I do like the unhelmeted version too, especially because he's got an impressive beard. The rather epic full-face mask does look rather cool though and is giving me Kharadron Overlord vibes. It would be fun to see some kitbashes between this kit and those Age Of Sigmar models.
It would be good to see if we get more bits and pieces to tinker with in the final kit. Namely, will we get different creatures to use on the large crest that runs up from the Kâhl's back?
Are you tempted by the Leagues Of Votann?

Comments now open – can’t shackle the Space Dwarves
They do look good in my opinion.
In my opinion, those are hideous.
Thank you, GW, for creating an entire army of mismatched themed, pseudo dwarven wannabees.
Absolutely zero interest in spending any of my valuable hobby dollars on them.
Those do look really good.
Pretty nice.
Sooo…we finally get a space dwarf who actually IS a space dwarf? Well one out of…dozens…isn’t bad, but the Kharadron Admiral still looks better.
