Games Workshop has released their new set of pre-orders this weekend for Warhammer 40,000 and with that we now get the new Inceptor models for the Primaris Space Marines.

Primaris Inceptors

These Inceptors fly into battle in their Mk X Power Armour and carry some heavy weapons to boot. You can either equip them with plasma incinerators as you can see above of assault bolters depending on which battlefield role you want them to fulfil.

Inceptors With Assault Bolters

As you might imagine, for a team that descends from high orbit they don't have any bare heads (which makes total sense). Instead they are armed to the teeth and covered in heavy armour, as well as those stabilisers for when they hit the ground.

I still think that I might be one of those people who would run these Space Marines just without the shields on the assault bolters. I still think they look a bit silly.

Ultramarine Upgrades

As well as these Primaris Space Marines there is also the new upgrade kit for your Ultramarines. This gives you heads, shoulder pads, weapons and other accessories.

You can also pick this set up as a collection for an entire squad if you like which is a nice addition. Hopefully, this means we're going to see a lot more of these for other Chapters and of course, other races, in the future.

Basing Materials

The new basing materials from Games Workshop also give you new ways to add some character to your base. First up we have the Barbed Bracken set.

...and this is then followed with a Creeping Vine set. This set of plastic terrain pieces can be used across your different bases, be they Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

Creeping Vines

In particular I was impressed by this set. This actually gives you a set of flexible vines which can be wrapped around anything or styled how you like to create an overgrown terrain piece or base.

Last but not least it wouldn't be Games Workshop without some Skulls.

Skulls

As you might imagine this set allows you to build up a mound of skulls for your armies to fight over. Of course for fans of Khorne this is like a wonderful chance to get their hands on accessories, but placed wisely around a base they could look awesome.

What do you think of the new releases?
