Horus Heresy’s Malevolence Brings Sanguinius With It To Pre-Order
March 31, 2019 by dracs
Forge World is delving back into the dark times of the Horus Heresy, as the Primarch Sanguinius arrives for pre-order, alongside the eighth book providing the rules for playing this tragic time of an empire split asunder.
An Angel Gets His Wings
Forge World's miniature for Sanguinius may be one of the more divisive sculpts we have seen.
When the model was first revealed, while most agreed the detail of the sculpt was superb, Sanguinius' pose left many confused. After all, that is quite an unfortunate place to get a rock stuck.
Things made a little bit more sense when the version with the full diorama base was revealed.
This version vastly improves things, turning the pose from comical into a fantastic, cinematic vignette. Both the diorama version and the regular version are up for pre-order from Forge World.
A Time Of Malevolence
Accompanying the model for Sanguinius, we find his rules in the eighth book in the Horus Heresy series: Malevolence.
A hidden war rages, as the Daemons of the Ruinstorm manifest in reality in numbers undreamt of, laying waste to worlds and trying to bring more of the Primarchs under their masters' sway. Chief among their targets is the angel Sanguinius, whose Legion has been deployed to the Signus Cluster where horror awaits him. Elsewhere, the proud and savage White Scars cleanse the Chondax system of greenskins, but the Alpha Legion wage a war of stealth and deception against their erstwhile brothers. Will the White Scars and Blood Angels fall to the lures of their enemy, or hold firm in defence of the Imperium?
Malevolence brings you the rules to field armies of Blood Angels and Daemons of the Ruinstorm. However, it's the White Scars I am most excited to find out more about.
I admit I know very little about their involvement in the Horus Heresy. However, they are one of my favourite chapters and I love seeing them brought onto the battlefield.
Which faction of the Horus Heresy is your favourite?

Shame that most of the time you’ll be using him without the diorama base, so it’ll look awkward more often than not. Even with the base, the hand looks a bit awkwardly posed with that spear.
Not surprised BA are your favourite Legion @dracs – Space Vampires sounds right up your street. 😉
While great looking sculpt I have to agree with lordofuzkulak that this miniature needs that diorama because of that awkward pose.
he looks better with the sword.
is this the fight just after he has recovered from the coma in the HH book?
