Games Workshop are looking ahead to a new Kill Team boxed set going up for pre-order this weekend. Ashes Of Faith puts a twist on the tried and tested Kill Team formula for Warhammer 40,000 and has you diving into a larger narrative Sci-Fi experience on the tabletop.

At the core of this new boxed set is the Ashes Of Faith Campaign Rulebook which comes with lots of additional rules for Kill Team which allow you to play out this clash between the agents of the Inquisition and the Chaos powers. Following the theme of a lot of Inquisitorial clashes in Warhammer 40,000, you can now take control of a band of these Agents and try and put down a Chaos Cult before it can grow to full power.

To aid you with this, you get a set of multi-part plastic miniatures representing the different Inquisitorial Agents that someone like Eisenhorn could muster from the teeming mass of humanity that has spread out across the stars.

The seven miniatures can be built in a few different ways and represent lower-ranking Agents, devout Priests, mindless Servitors and even an Astra Militarum Veteran. With this set of miniatures, you'd only need to snag yourself one of the nice-looking Inquisitor miniatures from Games Workshop and you'd have the makings of an army.

Alongside the Agents, you also get some Imperial soldiers who have been requisitioned by the Inquisition. Tempestus Scions and Sisters Of Silence have been summoned to aid you.

Going up against you, the forces of Chaos are numerous and deadly. Led by the Dark Commune, these Cultists have some unique mechanics in Ashes Of Faith where they become more and more mutated as your plans become enacted. They might start out as relatively human looking but by the end, they will be gibbering and twisted masses of muscle, talons, teeth and bile.

I like that Ashes Of Faith takes things in a different direction for a little while and provides folks with a break in the regular Season format that Games Workshop has adopted. As well as being a good chance to get some new Inquisitorial miniatures, it also sounds like the campaign could be a lot of fun to play through.

The real question is going to be whether or not you are going to be able to get your hands on this set. The previous set from Games Workshop vanished in an instant so let us cross our fingers and hope that folks won't feel like they have to head to eBay in order to dive into this new boxed set.

Will you be checking Ashes Of Faith out?
