Heresy-Era Storm Shields & Assault Cannons Arrive From Forge World
February 25, 2017 by brennon
Forge World has two new weapon options for your Cataphractii Terminators to use in battle this weekend as they revealed both Assault Cannons and Storm Shields for your Space Marines to carry into battle.
These new pattern of Assault Cannons are for those Blood Angels players out there who want some serious firepower to pour down onto the tabletop. Its field tests would almost always lead to disastrous results but it would utterly annihilate whatever it was fired at. You can see how they look on the models here...
Slightly more reliably we also have the new Storm Shields for those wargamers who like their Imperial Fists. Acting as the staunch bulwark of the Imperium it makes sense that they'd have some good defensive kit at their disposal.
These are bulkier than your normal Storm Shields and they provide an impenetrable barrier against oncoming fire when used in the hands of the mighty Terminators of the Space Marines.
I love the idea of doing up a unit of Imperial Fists holding out in a diorama against numerous foes. Back-to-back they could all have their shields up, fending off the enemy, their armour battered and bullet-ridden but their Storm Shields keeping them in the fighting.
Will you be getting either of these upgrade kits?

I haven’t played since 7th ed dropped, i’m hoping 8th will re-ignite my 40k urges so i can add beautiful stuff like these Cataphractii bits to my marine armies.
Those assault cannons are rather good but at same time those are not really nothing special from FW.
Love the shields. Since becoming enamoured with the Fall of Cadia campaign I’ve had (long term) plans to put together an Imperial Fist force for the battles aboard the Phalanx. They had the Storm Shields for the standard marines so these will tie in nicely. I can use them on half the Betrayal box.
nice reaper cannons for thousand sons.
I haven’t had anything to do with 40k for sometime but I am loving these Terminators. Interestingly the way these chaps are based makes it look like they are in a low grav environment.
