New Harlequin Weavers & Codex Hit The Web For Warhammer 40k!
February 13, 2015 by brennon
Games Workshop have put together another interesting collection of Harlequins for you to play with in your games of Warhammer 40,000. As well as the Star/Voidweaver they also released the Codex in both its Limited Edition and Regular format for you to pick up...
The Star/Voidweaver is another dual kit from Games Workshop and it's a pretty good looking vehicle even if I don't approve of the very basic canopy on the front. We would have loved to see the face back on the front of it, leering at their enemies! I'm a fan of the driver and the gunner but the passenger on the back still doesn't do it for me, although maybe it's just the chap with the bolas.
On the Codex front you have the standard Limited Edition or Regular choice as we noted above but the real draw here is that they're going to include some amazing artwork - it's Harlequins after all, and the army rules themselves have been shook up meaning that you don't see HQ units in this army!
Will you be picking up the new Codex and buying more Harlequins to fund your new painting obsession and love of patterned clothing? Maybe you'll pick up the Dice or Data Cards?
Let us know!

Those continue same line as jetbikes by having less detail and being towards more generic Eldar jetbikes than being more unique. Also they seem to continue that weird thing with dice by having insignia being 1 instead of 6.
There seems to be a Harlequin preacher standing on the second Cloud Banger there, just happens to have a gun mounted in front of him for unknown reasons .. wasnt aware Harlequins were this stiff tbh
great… for those that can paint those patterns… unfortunately I am not one of them haha
Will admit, I plan to pick up the codex this weekend
I just read the preview on ibooks. Had a bit of mega-fluff about lots of Eldar joining the Harlequins since the laughing god had a master plan to trick Slanesh into saving the Eldar. Pretty bloody cool……..and I wonder if it signals GW trying to instill a sense of hope into 40K game as a whole.
For some reason all the jetbikes and weavers look rather un-harlequin in being rather bland. They would be perfect as just normal Eldar but being such an elite force they really just don’t seem that special or different.
I reckon they should have come up with somekind of drone/webgate or drop pod that deep strikes and spews out lots of smoke that hangs around for a few turns and random blasts in turn 1. Would give a great theatrical feel to the army and provide a sensible amount of cover.
Shouldn’t that coat be billowing in the wind? Good grief. Played for fools again. Obviously the artists and sculptors work in isolation.
