Grey Knights Next On The Codex Hit List For Warhammer 40k
August 11, 2014 by brennon
It looks like Games Workshop are continuing to avoid Warhammer Fantasy with another Warhammer 40,000 release on the horizon for the Grey Knights. Prospective daemon hunters better ready their force weapons!
So this weekend marks the previews of the new codex but I have to ask myself whether or not there are any more miniatures that could really come out for these daemon killers? Most of their range is plastic now and they have a large model in the Dreadknight. I'm assuming we'll see some new HQ miniatures and maybe another Sanctus Reach style box that comes with a character and a selection of Grey Knights alongside it.
Is this the codex you were hoping for?

The Space Wolves digital dex showed the new Grey Knights instead. One big thing that was lacking was any mention of Inq so this might be a stand alone codex.
If they do come out with models I hope they aren’t powered by wolves, goats, or cows.
Isn’t there supposed to be a fantasy release next? Someone whispered “Bretonnians” in my ear, but I could be wrong. If that’s true, please GW, for the sake of all that’s good and right, don’t f*ck that one up. I’ve got a horde of knights, but am always looking for RPG character models to lead them.
I think the rumours about Bretonnians being next just meant they’d be the next fantasy release, but fantasy releases don’t come along very often these days.
Thanks for the info. I thought they alternated between fantasy and 40k. I guess I can stop holding my breath now :-).
Current fantasy rumours are Nagash and campaign releases, something Nurgly in October and then brets next year. If any of that is true I am not sure, I no longer have any sources.
So wonder boys are next in line. Let’s see if they get some better looking new models than some that puppies got.
It will be a model less codex, with the inquisition and assassin parts removed and the rest of the codex updated to 7th, with som points adjustments. Maybe a altered psilencer.
If there will be new models, my guess would be a dreadnought with psycannon and heavy incinerator parts.
No new models would be super disappointing, I hope this rumour will show false.
No more disappointing than new models lately.
I dont agree. They had a lot of great models releases :. Flash Gits, Knights, the Astra Militarum Stuff, Dwarfs and Wood Elves, Dark Elves and so on. To me GW has never been better than now. I even like the wolve Chariot thingy in the end. People complain about it, ignoring the myriads of other “stupid” details adorning 40k designs, like all the candles, wax glued paper seals, feathered wings and so on. 40k is in many regards incredibly stupid and makes absolute no sense, it is not valid to pic singualr stupid phenomena and whine about em, one… Read more »
Why is it that when I say “40k is in many regards incredibly stupid and makes absolute(sic) no sense” there is an immediate lynch mob, but you can get away with it? :-).
I’m so glad that, after finding GW too expensive, you’ve started buying Forgeworld stuff instead lol.
I am sure there will be something new – but less could be more
I’ve seen the new Grey Knights Chariot model, it’s awesome! It’s a chariot pulled by TWO Dreadknights !! Just what the customers ordered!
…and ridden by Draigo don’t forget 😉
Seriously though I’d like another Sanctus Reach style set with a unique daemon herald and librarian or something, maybe plastic Dreadnoughts or Ghost Knights, but who knows it may just be the codex and a plastic character or two, or else something off the wall crazy. I doubt we’ll see a plastic Inquisitor and henchmen set which would be immense, so that’s why I doubt it 🙂
I hope not, only in the interest of my wallet you understand
Apparently Mordrak and the ghost knights have been removed from the book 🙁
There however is a rumour of an items that ‘replicates’ Mordrak
I really hope not! I spent ages converting my ghost knights was real happy with them, then they became terrible in 6th, didn’t even try them in 7th and now this!
I’ll be crossing all limbs and will be happy for any viable ghost knight option in the new dex.
I would even take a ghost knight chariot……
I was hoping for some new fantasy knights but we get grey ones instead.Just thinking the release of the bretonnian book and the knights could be a jumpping off point for a campaign book with Nagash returning.
The new model will be a dreadknight in an even bigger suit, a centurion dreadknight, with a cannon that fires wolves…
Apparently the new super-hero rides on a copy of Readers’ Digest pulled by feral bookworms and waves an arcane librarians’ bookstamp…
Lord Dewey, handing out long ‘overdue’ punishment.
