Games Workshop Celebrate 30 Years Of Warhammer 40,000
August 8, 2017 by brennon
Games Workshop is celebrating thirty years of Warhammer 40,000 with a new Primaris Sergeant which will be available on the 2nd, September.
This model represents a Veteran Sergeant for one of the new Primaris Intercessor units. He is wearing the Mk X Tacticus Armour featuring a Crux Terminatus and on his back, the sheathed sword. He also comes with two options for heads, both helmeted and un-helmeted.
The model is pretty awesome and you could easily drop him into all manner of different Chapters due to the fact he has no overt markings across his armour. I would personally aim to use him with Black Templars as I think he has quite the zealous look to him.
What do you make of this celebratory Space Marine?

I love the Primaris Marines.
Just wish they hadnt come down so mad on the fluff to establish them and just replaced the old Marines with these in new scale.
Anyone know if this something you have to buy in the GW brick and mortar shops, via direct only on the webstore or/and can this be bought through 3rd party retailers?
It will be in GW stores as far as I can tell from the article they posted.
Meh, it’s just another Primaris, nothing to make it unique or special.
What a let down for 30th anniversary model. That primars is nothing special compared to what GW has released before it.
The model should have been a lawyer with red-tape armour 🙂
I like Primars marines but this is a bit boring for a celebratory mini, could easily produce the same look from a quick dip in the old bits box.
now I feel old.
…… well we didn’t want to say anything, but ………………. 😉
Charming as ever… ^^
I don’t see a crux terminatus.
I do see a butter knife.
maybe he meant purity seal, everyone has a slip on occasion
Its hanging from the rope on his shoulder pad next to the bolter shell.
I feel that for a 30 year anniversary mini, that is massively underwhelming.
I think it does need something extra – you could replace one of the existing sergeants with this one, but would anyone notice?
It’s a nice enough miniature but a little bit boring for a anniversary.
In another forum I’m active one person suggested it should have been a normal Marine and a Primaris fighting together back to back to show the past and the future and I think that would have been awesome.
I will certainly be trying to get my hands on one of these! Really like the model and the Primaris stuff in general!
I really don’t get this one.
Sure, he is not just the next Space Sigmarine. And I do like the pretty realistic pose. Still nothing actually special about him. An aniversary miniature would give ample oppurtunity for something exceptional. E.g. referencing earlier models like the original Rogue Trader ones. Or iconical illustrations. At the very least they could finally have done an individual variation of the Primaris clone armour.
looks great.
Gotta admit that when I hit 30 I also felt a little bored of trying to recapture the creative vigour of my youth and just spent a while treading water knowing that it was good enough and not cause too many ripples.
Glad to see GW have marked the Space Marines anniversary with the same ambivalence and apathy that greeting your 3rd decade brings.
Can’t wait til they hit 45 and they ALL get Bikes, start wearing sports coats and listening to Status Quo.
The comic effect works better when you remember it’s entering the 4th decade, of course. Duh.
I like the miniature, nothing special for an anniversary release but the nicest, and beautifully simple, Primaris pose and sculpt so far.
What a bland celebration. A nice limited edition captain in a lordly pose would have been better than Veteran Sergeand Blando aiming his bolter.
The price will likely generate much lulz
