Games Workshop Are Coming To The UK Games Expo
February 21, 2017 by brennon
With little beating around the bush, we've got news that Games Workshop is going to be exhibiting for the first time at UK Games Expo in June (2nd - 4th 2017) on a stand covering a whopping 150 square meters!
There's not much more news than that right now but we have reached out to the team over at GW to see if they will spill a few beans on their plans for the event. We have no doubt that they're going to be there showing off plenty of goodies from Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40,000 as well as their boxed games like Warhammer Quest, Blood Bowl, and whatever else is still in the pipeline from them!
And, we'll do our very best to bring you the action over the course of the weekend!
The UK Games Expo is shaping up to be quite the event with some big names joining in to make this a massive experience. and if you fancy joining us there go grab your tickets here!
While we wait, though, let's play a game of ... "What would you like to see from Games Workshop at the event?"

Nice to see them having a presence again. I do like GWs change in direction since Mr Kirby’s departure.
Great News, that GW getting reengaged with gaming at large again
If they also talk to the press …
I’m there for all 3 days and this just adds even more excitement for me! 😀
It’s nice for them to finally come out of their shell and acknowledge they’re not “the hobby” on their own.
Wow!!!! That’s awesome news they are finally re engaging with the community… Will they make a secret surprise appearance at Salute 😛
I was wondering that, it’s doubtful as the floor plan for Salute has been released
The list of traders is here and there’s a link to the floorplan PDF at the bottom –

Will be interesting to see how they behave towards the press…will they hand out review copies of any new products or willing to conduct interviews…
At the Las Vagas tournament, they interviewed / invited people from miniwargaming to appear on Warhammer TV.
So I guess it is a possibility they’ll allow for interviews?
They also did an interview with a channel called The Dice Tower
It’s good to see GW increasing they presence.
I’d like to see them bring Jes Goodwin and let him sit down for a Designer’s Studio interview….
I think this is just another notch for GW more recently, they have been hitting all the right notes for the most part. I mean still those price points, but other than that, I think that GW has been doing a huge amount to try to change their image.
Next step to revisit their pricing structure?
I think for the most part they can’t too much because of corporate psychology reasons, like a fall of another prominent company. I think however they need to revise their foreign pricing structure as people can order directly from retail through a friend in the UK, have them ship to them and still come out cheaper on every item.
I have a video on it, but I have yet to do everything.
I think we’re already seeing it, with the boxed sets. You typically save a chunk of money on any of the boxed sets, especially the Start Collecting! ones.. Then you’ve got the AoS model, which actually lowers the price point at which you can start playing the game (I fully expect the next edition to 40k to do something similar). I.e. it’s quicker / cheaper to get an army you can play with. And I guess we’ve seen one unit become cheaper (in a sort of way), when they increased the size of the unit (one of the Sigmarite units)… Read more »
The RRP on existing products can’t be reduced, as it’ll leave retailers and distributors with existing stock they bought at the higher price which they’ll either not be able to sell or will have to take a hit on to bring it in line with the new RRP. As @fleetey says, they have already addressed pricing with the Start Collecting sets, but also in the switch from codex releases to ‘boardgame’ releases, which bundle the miniatures up at a greater discount than they would be if they were released individually in codex release. Of course, you have to buy the… Read more »
To be fair it was fucking weird that they hadn’t been at a lot of these types of events for so long! (other than FW having a 2×2 square selling unmarked boxes at Salute in recent years, of course)
this is brilliant news are they doing new (EPIC) figure’s, stuff, anything,? guys
I believe Forge World are doing a Titan game on the epic scale, although I think they said it would only involve Titans, and anything else would come later (I want to say this is how Epic started out back in the day)
sounds good, hopefully?
finally they choose engage with us !
