Forge World’s Legion Sicaran Arcus Strike Tank Rumbles Into Battle
August 5, 2017 by brennon
Forge World previewed this particular vehicle a few weeks ago and now the Legion Sicaran Arcus Strike Tank has rumbled into battle.
Here's some of the background on this particular beast...
"Once the Arcus strike tank was one of the most advanced support platforms available to the Space Marine Legions, but for reasons long since lost to the past, the Adeptus Mechanicus holds the pattern as a slight against the Omnissiah and refuses to produce or repair such vehicles.
Without the specialised knowledge of the Machine God’s adepts, the advanced launchers of the Arcus have slowly failed and been replaced with more common rotary launchers and stocks of its rare warheads have dwindled.
Now it is used by the Space Marine Chapters that retain examples of this rare pattern as a fast strike tank, racing it forwards to saturate a target area with incendiary devices of a more commonplace provenance and using its renowned speed to escape unscathed, enabling them to clear otherwise redoubtable bunkers and fortresses with brutal efficiency."
It comes armed with the missile launcher on the top as well as side-sponson weapons and a hull mounted heavy bolter. You can actually download rules for using this vehicle in both Horus Heresy-era games and your Warhammer 40,000 battles too.
What do you think of this tank?

I like the 30k colour scheme for the blood angels, tanks rather nice as well.
It’s good looking tank but then again it’s another Sicaran variant.
I do like the Sicaran – pretty much any of the variants – I’m not especially fond of the style of paining on that one – overshaded and overhighlighted with insignias that are too small imo.
It looks rather odd that the bullet (projectile) end of the cartridges on the ammo belts are 180 degrees from the open barrel ends. Or are the red-tipped points missiles and the actual barrels are pointed out the back?
@blaeyn OMG you are correct, sir! The flat brass end of the projectile is facing the front lol.
Good point.
Wow, amazing that something like this has slipped into the final product.
In the fluff, these are supposed to fire different kinds of warheads as it needs to, the tips (the red bits) are probably added in the chamber after the magazine. That would be the only way it could fire different types of missile in the fly without changing the whole ammo magazine.
In modern autocannon-type weapons the gunner has a selector switch to change the feed from HE to AP i.e. a different belt. In tanks there is a carousel that the gunner selects main armament from. Would be time consuming to build the weapon ‘on the fly,’ not to mention turning it around to face forward.
love the tank.
Not only are the shells facing the wrong way , but shouldn’t the silver bits be red like the ones that are ready to fire ?
