Forge World Bring Forth The Mighty Ordinatus Sagittar
April 4, 2016 by brennon
Forge World have another awesome 'big gun' to add to your collection if you're on the side of the Mechanicum. See what you think of the Ordinatus Sagittar which is going to be blasting apart a fair few vehicles and defences...
"The Ordinatus Sagittar carries a trio of Volkite Culverins as its secondary armaments, whilst its primary weapon is a Belicosa pattern Volcano Cannon, more often carried by Warlord class Battle Titans."
"An ancient pattern of weapon whose destructive power is comparable to many shipboard cannon and planetary defence lasers, few mobile weapons platforms are capable of mounting the Belicosa simply due to its savage power requirements. When engulfed in the cannon’s cohesive light, the strongest fortress walls may be reduced to glowing embers and the most resilient armour to molten slag and vapour."
I think this is a rather neat looking big gun although I don't really see a place for it on my own tabletops. I know a lot of people love these big war machines, and Forge World do do a good job on them, but they seem like something for an entirely different level of wargame.
I could see these being part of a really neat participation game where you're defending a huge section of wall and blasting down Titans as they approach your defences.
What do you think about big vehicles like these?

£285? No thanks.
That is one good looking big cannon. I am not sure if it’s worth it’s high price tag.
A very nice model that conveys the eclectic style of the Mechanicum/Mechanicus well, but as pointed out by other commenters the Forgeworld price tag is eye watering and sadly out of my budget. For those able and prepared to make the outlay, it would make for a great army centre piece.
Beaut of a model, I’d use it as an objective or terrain as opposed to an actual unit though I think.
It’s got Dune/Starwars written all over it, not to mention Warhammer! 😀
Seeing the 1st image I did think Mantic Forgefathers rather than Forge World. … The rest did prove me wrong
I’m really digging the “Steampunk in Space” look of the Mechanicum models and this is anther great looking kit.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a mechanicum army or a massive table to put one on, or the 100+ spare hours t build and paint one. But if I did, I’d be all over this…
lovely but expensive.
