Forge World Set Up Pre-Orders For Conquest Special Edition!
November 10, 2014 by brennon
The Horus Heresy Book IV: Conquest is now up for pre-order from Forge World and the Special Edition is likely to go rather fast so if you want to get a hold of it you'll need to do so quickly!
As well as including a rather nice art piece (which you can see at the bottom) in the limited edition it will also all be enclosed with a nice leather bound slipcase. The book itself contains information on a whole host of new battlegrounds and includes rules on making your own campaigns while crafting a system to fight in!
There are also army lists for both the Solar Auxilia and the Questoris Knights so if those armies are something you're interested in from the period then this could well be a solid buy for you.
Will you be picking this up?

Hell no.
More of this GW “special” edition rubbish.
I will be waiting for the regular edition. Just really annoyed that they dont release the regular book at the same time.
This is Forge World, everything they release is special edition, since time began. Heck the entire idea behind the company is that they do the special high end stuff that GW wishes they could do but only a smaller number of people want it.
Exciting stuff, but I’ll be waiting for the standard edition too.
I ordered it, currently painting up sons of horus so for me its a must buy. The fact its special edition is nice seeing as my istvaan campaign is in the special edition set up too. Primarily dealing with FW stuff of late the cost has to be a tertiary concern.
Exactly the same here, will sit nicely alongside my SE Istvaan set. Having Death Guard also makes it a “requirement”
Yeah, decided to do a mechanicum army, then the thought occurred to me that all the models will be from FW…woops.
The most exciting part for me is that this book does a lot to widen the scope of the setting. Everything in the first three books has been variations on marines and Mechanicum. That’s not a complaint btw, all three books have been a joy to own and read. Book 4 starts to look at the rest of the Imperium, adding the first glimpse of the Imperial Army and much more about Knights. It also feels like FW are saying, we have the ground work done, now let’s start to have some real fun with this. This feels like the… Read more »

it looks like there is a lot of in depth stuff on running campaigns in here also. Looks good.
Book IV is, admitted by FW, a filler book, that allows them to catch up with model releases without adding too much new stuff to the HH line.
I think that is a good thing, completing the model line from the first trilogy of books before moving on the the next one.
1000 left… So GW just made like £90,000 in a day…
