Forge World Reveal Rogal Dorn As Next Horus Heresy Primarch
January 31, 2018 by brennon
Forge World announced today that the next model in their Horus Heresy Character Series is going to be Rogal Dorn. The Primarch of the Imperial Fists has arrived...
Available at the Horus Heresy Weekender coming up soon, this fellow is a mighty warrior and tactician. I usually don't like models that are just standing still like this, especially commanders, but I think it makes sense considering who he is and his personality.
Calculated and precise in his actions, Rogal Dorn is certainly one of the fan favourites from the Horus Heresy I would say. The model itself is, as you might imagine, packed with details, even down to the fine detail work on his chainsword.
Are you going to be adding him to your collection?

beautifully intricate armour and a suitably heroic pose. a damn fine sculpt from forge world.
Since I’ve already got about 400 30K Imperial Fists, yes I will be picking this magnificent bastard up. This is such a glorious model I cannot wait to get my hands on him, hopefully at Adepticon.
Very nice and very heroic. So much so that that static pose doesn’t bother me at all. But he is really golden as well that seems to be popular with GW and FW these days. Not color scheme that I would choose for him. I always saw him having yellow color scheme of his legion.
Not the best primarch they’ve done, but a good addition to the series.
Which are your favourites @deaddave ?
My favorite Primarch model so far.
Facially, he reminds me a bit of John Craven…
He reminds me of Stephen Lang…
Would love to see dorn’s version of countryfile…..
…and now I can’t get the John Craven voice out of my head 🙁
He looks like the King of the Custodes. I get it they wanted to go NMM on the armour but he ends up looking like just another of those gilded marines, i.e. dull
Oh and he looks like Anthony Bourdain
Now this is more like it. I like this miniature. Be interested to see it next to a Primarus.
I don’t normally like static poses for miniatures either, but this is magnificent. I think the base is really good too – it really works with this model.
This pose suits Dorn he looks every inch the sentinel that he is. Not much movement but lots of resolve.
Far from the “worst Primarch ever” which it is being touted as on other sites (thta title, in my opiniom , both in model and in lore goes to Lorgar …. the whiney b!tch)
@beardragon14 agree with you on worst mini, but Lorgar really is the mastermind of the heresy, and he is still alive .. just saying
He’s a sneaky , sooky git … and a religous zealot .. I hate religous zealots miore than elves which is why I don’t play Menoth
wow you must really hate retribution @beardragon14, I used to be the same now they make great nutter to play on the tabletop.
very nice but he should be yellow not gold.
He needs a giant tash
Yes, I giant curled at the sides moustache
If I ever get this mini that sculpt is happening
I swear sometimes I think GW and FW were taken over by “Pednisent” trump. I swear Donny Two Scoops Is the only one I can think of who likes gold plating all over the place.
p.s. I swear a lot, apparently.
The pose and armour detail are spot on for the character, the face and hair seem off, looks a little better in the rotation. It might be the paint job, while technically stunning doesn’t really work for me.
i though the same thing mate with the face and hair, like you said though it’s the paint job.
The whole FW character series has been a win for me, not every model hits the mark but to be fair you can’t please everyone. As whole though it’s been fantastic and I think this is a fantastic edition to it for me. The stoic pose, don’t f’ with me face (Stephen Lang for me BTW, if you haven’t already check out The Men Who Stare at Goats!) all adds up to another amazing Primary If I ever won a butt load of money buying everything I like from the Character Series is close to the top of the list… Read more »
That’s one cool grandpa…
Another great mini but for me Vulkan is still my favourite.
Very in character for Dorn. Stalwart, unflinching and ready.
I dunno…
The model itself is well made and the pose fits the character. But I can’t help but think there’s something slightly off about the face and gold was a really bad choice for armour – yellow would make him look that much better.
