Forge World Release The Howling Space Wolves Praetor
January 6, 2018 by brennon
Forge World has now released the first of their big new Space Wolves releases with the Legion Praetor taking to the front lines as a leader for your Heresy Era army.
In true Space Wolves style, the Praetor is shown in a rather aggressive pose, as you might imagine, and comes armed with a Combi-Bolter and a rune-covered Chainsword for when he needs to get stuck into close combat.
You can also change the Combi-Bolter for a Dagger if you would prefer him to be completely focused on getting up close and personal with the enemy.
I quite like what they've done with those model and it's nice to see that the Space Wolves retained (or indeed started) with so much character built into their Chapter from the very beginning.
Some of the details of the model do seem a little soft, especially around the face, but I think that a good tidy paint job should bring out the best in the model.
What do you think?

Very nice. I must admit while it might seem weird what I most like about that one is way his chainsword looks. It has to be one of best looking chainswords that any 30k or 40k model I have seen so far has.
he’s pretty solid and inline with the heresy style. i feel they could have gone with more texture to the fur given the medium, go have a look at the pelt on Horus, but it’s ok as is. bio mechanically the Heresy models range from really nice to a bit 2D and wooden looking. this fella is a bit closer to the later. i went and had a look at the unpainted image to check the details on the face especially. they look a lot sharper from the top down shot but it’s tough to tell without seeing the model… Read more »
they would be good for pre eye 13th wolfs?
What’s with the top knot? Have they finally ran out of wolf heads? 🙂
I want him. I really want this guy.
Not a SW player but appreciate them, he defo looks the part. I can’t imagine a SW not wanting him.
All that is missing is a zimmer frame so the old guy can hobble into battle.
Dodgy model unworthy of Force World.
Pulled from production some are saying, too.
