Forge World Previews New Models For Horus Heresy Weekender

Forge World continue with the previews for what's coming to the Horus Heresy Weekender giving us snippets of the new product that will be on show. This stuff covers the full range from Imperial Fists, to corrupted Dreadnoughts and even some Adeptus Mechanicum too...
First up we have these utter bad asses. Alexis Polux is an awesome model that's in a great pose, bellowing out orders onto the battlefield through his vox communicator as he stands with shield in hand after a brutal fight.
Next up is Mhara Gal who looked pretty awesome when we saw the first previews but now I'm not so sure. I don't like the join between the body and the legs, it looks weak and very strange to me.
Last but not least are the Ogryn Charonite Squad that folks guessed correctly yesterday. I certainly prefer them with the helmets on as the one without reminds me too much of the Vogons from Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.
On the mechanical front we have the Quad Multi-Laser & Mortar Rapier Batteries for the Solar Auxilia alongside their pretty impressive rolling fortress that is the Stormhammer. If you needed more guns then these guys clearly got the order ahead of time.
The Scyllax Guardian-Automata are also part of the new raft of releases coming to the Weekender and while I'm sure they are appealing to those players of the Adeptus Mechanicum I don't like the models. I'm really not a fan of the aesthetic and all those spindly mecha-tendrils.

I think I’m going to have to seriously restrain myself at the weekender. Though I’m VERY tempted to pick up a stormhammer. Scyllax…. I have to say I’m quite fond of them, all the tentacles remind me if the drones from the matrix. Now the ogryns, I liked the preview, but painted up, not so much. I’d like to see them in darker muted colours.
Agree, the Ogyrns need to have a grittier look. Scyllax look very cool. Mechanicum is rapidly becoming my favourite Heresy army.
Get on the mechanicum boat, still got all the Dark Mechanicum stuff yet to turn up!
Totally love the Scyllax. In fact the only thing I don’t love is the middle ogryn with the face. Ogryns look better without faces! Hopefully that will be an option. The rest is just beautiful.

or a rhino horn

Scyllax are the kind of thing I’ve been wanting them to do with the mechanicum ever since the army was announced. I really like them.
The Stormhammer is ridiculous (soo many guns!) but pretty damn cool!
The tainted dreadnought is also looking particularly nice IMO

Not so keen on the tank but the rest are awesome.
Well my wallet is safe from any of the formerly rumoured Ultramarines stuff (I didnt believe there would be any anyway, but others told me I was wrong)…..
However my Death Guard will certainly be getting some reinforcements…… just have to work out how many I can afford! 🙂
The tank is far too over the top, but I like the Quad Mortar. The idea of engaging the enemy from a safe distance has always appealed to me.

Agreed… good sculpt, but conceptually a bit off the mark: good thing he’s got that wooden shield, as his inch-thick alloy(presumably) plating won’t stop anything 🙂 .

Not at all, this is just the FW range they are previewing for the heresy weekender. Wouldn’t be like GW to not allow you to use your toys in 40k, might hurt sales 😉
Tank and the ogryns are not to my taste. The rest however makes the no 30k harder to stick too. Particularly like Polux not your generic marine face but neverliess works for the character in my view
