Forge World Launches New Webstore With Space Marine Exclusive
August 12, 2015 by brennon
Forge World have now launched their new webstore which is more in line with the design of the Games Workshop one. To celebrate the new store they have also added a new Space Marine Legion Centurion which will be available until September 30th...
The Legion Centurion comes with a battle scarred face, bolt pistol and clenched power fist. I love the look of the armour and the facial scars are very nicely detailed indeed.
There are also some deals on the webstore according to the emails that went out this morning so have a root around to see if there is anything worth picking up.
What do you think of the new store and model?

It seems to match GW website in layout.
The best thing about the site is the 360 degree images of all products, that’s a really nice touch and something that was really lacking in the old one.
I’d be interested to know which products haven’t made it across I am sure there must be some
just an FYI here they have dropped free shipping to £100 orders
but only until end of September, obviously orders that small (:P) cannot be free postage forever, but it might help out if you only want a few things, of cannot justify a £250 minimum buy at once from one company and not including any of their main stuff, and remember the books are not updated as swiftly as you’d like. I feel the need to say I did make an order for the lower buy free shipping.
I also feel the need to say that face is badly sculpted, like they cut the claw marks while the green was too soft and took most of the face down with it
Yup if i was to buy it a head swap would be needed
And here I was, ready to celebrate the return of the squats…
As a techie, and one the people who seemed to understand how the redirect rumor mongering worked a few months back (had an explanation i wrote published on natfka), i can confirm looking at the headers that they no longer run on a ASP.net based CMS/Cart but have consolidated on the Oracle Web ATG CMS that GW uses for their main site, only black library to go now, and also and prehaps more interestingly no longer is their any technical impediment to the main GW site selling FW stock…. plastic heresy sets coming with up sales to FW resin anyone… Read more »
As for the mini, not keen on the face sculpt looks like troll face
I am SM player (not vanilla but still) but I do wonder if entire webstore for FW once is needed for them.
it looks to be a new shoulder pad and power first (Not sure on the fist though) as part of a kit bash of the Legion Praetor and one of the word bearers heads.
The £100 free shipping is just at the right time for me as I dont need £250 stuff right now.
scratch that its not the head I thought it was!
First thing I have seen in a while that I would perhaps consider, but it would not be for me as I have to agree with earlier the head would need a switch out. Not being a nay sayer but my next venture into anything 40/30K I am looking at Scibor models possibly the Egyptian based minis. Yes I know, but damn the expense if I had it that is where it lies.
When plastic surgery attacks, Astartes edition…
Not a fan of the GW layout. Gonna have to get get one of these guys though, tempted to now but it will have to wait till next month….
Little Timmy had described to his handyman grampa over the phone what a space marine looked like.
He does look pretty ugly, but I like it. A lot of the marine heads look very similar, with only bionics or beards to distinguish them. This guy looks like a real character!
Am I only one who had the Ultramarines Chant playing in their head when they saw this epic mini.
I’m going to fly in the ‘face’ (haha, *sigh*) of the prevailing opinion and say that I really like the head sculpt. I’m not fond if the normal GW chiselled superhero look that their marines predominantly seem to get, after fighting the emperor’s enemies for many decades and being stitched and patched and stapled by battlefield apothecaries they would probably look distinctly grizzled.
Me too. Also, given that a lot of the Heresy era stuff is modelled on early GW Rogue Trader era miniatures, some of which had somewhat squiffy faces, it doesn’t seem inappropriate that a new Heresy figures recalls that earlier, lower quality but less standardised time.
i do see your point @ splen – all that fighting for teh Emprah down the centuries would almost certainly lead to your average Space Marine’s gen-hanced good looks getting a bit dinged up over time, especially with the … let’s just say ‘pragmatic’ approach of Astartes Apothecaries to battlefield surgery. They wouldn’t all look like Clint Eastwood in his prime.
While I am not sure about the head, I really like the rest of the model. the armour design is excellent, and the clenched powerfist works really well too.
I’m I the only one thinking of Blofeld when I look at him?

Now does anyone make 28mmscale cats?
Would be nice to get a non powered armour promo mini once in a while… 😉
Yay more.. Space…. Marines……………meh.
A lovely model, which quite frankly looks better in the Word Bearers scheme, but a hefty price tag for yet another Space Marine Captain. I’m only going to buy three haha.
he looks good but i don’t need an other captain.
