Forge World Charge Beam Cannons On Their Newest Knight
June 7, 2019 by brennon
Forge World has rocked the grimdark far future of The Horus Heresy with another mighty Knight. This time we have the Acastus Knight Asterius which comes armed with two massive Conversion Beam Cannons.
Here's some of the background on this massive new Knight which looks like it's armed to make the enemy engineers think twice about their defences.
"Acastus Knights were already rare in the age of the Horus Heresy, and Asterius patterns were even more scarce than Porphyrions. Like its counterpart, they were amongst the most massive and formidable engines of destruction available to Knight Houses.
These mighty behemoths were armed to raze the mightiest edifices with conversion beam cannons – even the secondary weapons were deadly in their own right. The carapace hid a massive Karacnos mortar battery, capable of saturating the ramparts with high-impact explosives, as well as two volkite culverins to demolish targets of priority."
Whilst I do like the fact that they are throwing another Knight into the mix, and I do like its two new weapons, this does look a bit quirky and odd don't you think?
I know that any Knight or Titan from the Horus Heresy is effectively archaic in terms of Warhammer 40,000 and such, which is why the pose and design is so rigid, but it does mean you really have to like these Knights in order to snap one up. Well, never mind the cost!
This is another of their massive resin kits and rules for using it in games of The Horus Heresy can be found over on the miniature's webstore page HERE.

Very nice but so expensive model.
is this a large knight or a small warhound?
It may look a bit quirky but it really does look the more realistic of what a titan would look like. I really like the aesthetic
I do like bulky, but if this thing tries to walk it looks like it will just fall over.
Very cool! Man he looks ‘roided out
I like the beam-shooting hands. Very original.
