After a whole lot of Guild Ball over the past week, we thought we'd dive in and show off some of the work people have done on some of the teams for the game in the Hobby & Painting Forum.

So, let's take a look at some Fisherman, Hunters and then some Horus Heresy Space Marines spurred on by Hobby Night Live.

Fisherman's Guild by gorrillawithabrush

Whilst this project has been going on for a while it was great to see this Fisherman's Guild team finished off by gorillawithabrush.

Big bold colours are the name of the day here contrasted with the darker tones of their leather and the planks of wood they are walking about on. It's a simple style of basing but it really makes the models pop rather than taking away from them.

I think gorillawithabrush has done a fantastic job of making those blues stand out and they have been used sparingly enough to tie them all together. Of course, there are also some cute mascots in there too with one of the latest additions being this fellow.

Once again there were a lot of steps that went into building up the realistic flesh of the octopus and I think the highlighting and the shading on the sea helps frame the model. If you want to see more of the work-in-progress shots of this particular team you can check out the thread linked above.

One of the benefits of painting up smaller model count games like Guild Ball is that you can give a lot of attention to single models and this has shown here in spades.

Captain Theron by commodorerob

Sticking with the theme of Guild Ball we have Captain Theron who has been painted up by commodorerob, packed full of detail!

Once again we're seeing a model where a lot of the focus has gone into making those bright colours pop and then contrasting that with browns which are befitting of the Hunter's Guild. What drew me to this particular piece was the work on the facial details which are very fine indeed.

We also got a look at the base that commodorerob is working on for Theron here which is a nice woodland scene. I'm not entirely sure it would be good for playing sports in and around but it sure looks good.

If you've been painting up some new Guild Ball teams after the themed week let us know and maybe they too will feature and garner you a golden button!

Horus Heresy Space Marines by aurorainabag

Picked out from the Hobby Night Live thread we have these Horus Heresy Space Marines by aurorainabag. She has managed to get ten of them done and they are looking great, especially since she doesn't normally do this much painting!

The first five are for the Death Guard with their pale, bone-like armour and the almost natural green of their shoulder pads. The creamy bone stands out really nicely and has been shaded really well. Also, kudos on getting lots of detail into the helmets and those glowing red eye slits.

Next up we have quite the contrast with the bright colours of the Imperial Fists.

The scheme here with the yellow is slightly different from what you might have seen before. It almost has a worn and washed out style to it which works really nicely on particular parts of the armour. It's almost a 'drawn' or artistic style.

This is great work and we're looking forward to seeing how the basing works out. If you have any suggestions let her known in the forum thread above or in the comments below.
