Games Workshop are keeping up the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy releases with a bunch of additional pre-orders coming up this weekend. For starters, you will now be able to get your hands on the Age Of Darkness Rulebook separate from the big boxed set.

We've talked at length about what's included within these books but as a primer, they will offer up all of the updated rules that you need for playing games set during The Horus Heresy. All of the core rules are included here, a tweak and update on 7th Edition, including those new reaction rules.

You'll also note that there are options for getting the book in its Standard style or you can go overboard and pick up the Collector's Edition if you prefer. A decent and weighty tome!

MKVI Tactical Squad

Following in the footsteps of their Brother Space Marines, the MKVI Tactical Squad is also going to be available separately from this weekend.

It is the same set of miniatures that you'll have found in the Age Of Darkness Boxed Set featuring that classic Corvus Pattern Armour. Fix those bayonets and start clashing with Traitors and Loyalists alike.

The main thing with these upcoming releases is that it fills in the gaps for those already playing Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. A lot of folks will already have large armies thanks to Forge World and past boxed games so this could be a nice way to supplement a large collection.

Returning Characters

In addition to the MKVI Tactical Squad, we also see the return of some miniatures from some of those boxed games that we mentioned above. From Burning Of Prospero, we have Geigor Fell-Hand of the Space Wolves.

Armed with his seriously awesome Lightning Claw, this fellow is going to be rushing into the heart of the action and tearing apart some Traitors. I really like that the Space Wolves still had that ornate Norse/Viking theme to their attire even back during The Horus Heresy and Geigor should be very fun to paint.

Moving over to Betrayal At Calth, we also have the two character models that appeared as part of that set. This gives you a Praetor & Chaplain Consul to use in your armies.

I have always liked that Praetor miniature! When I picked up Betrayal At Calth, I sided with the Traitors and got the Chaplain Consul so I might use this weekend as a reason to get my hands on that Terminator Armour-clad leader.

Fancy New Dice!

Finishing things off, we also have a couple of new dice sets for both the Imperial Fists and the Sons Of Horus.

I'm not too sure about the look of the dice for the Imperial Fists although they might be better when not backed onto black. The Sons Of Horus dice seem nicely decadent although I fear they might be a little hard to read. I do like that these sets also come with a direction dice for your template weapons though!

I'm sure we're going to be seeing even more plastic sets coming out over the next few months so we'll have no shortage of options for Horus Heresy players...

Are you going to be picking up more for Warhammer: The Horus Heresy?
