Wanted to give Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team a go but not been fussed with diving in too deep? Well, Games Workshop has made the Lite Rules for the game free to download alongside a set of Space Marine Intercession Squad rules for you to play with.

The Lite Rules break things down across three pages and offer up all of the core rules that you need for having a scrap. It will run you through the different phases of gameplay plus a bunch of special rules that you might come up against.
As well as the Lite Rules, there is also the Intercession Squad Kill Team PDF which contains rules for running a Kill Team of Primaris Space Marines using the Primaris Intercessors or Assault Intercessors from Warhammer 40,000.

As well as the rules for turning them into a Kill Team, there are also extra bits and pieces within the twenty-two pages for running a narrative campaign with the Spec Ops rules. So, if you have a bunch of new Primaris Space Marines lying around, it might be worth giving this a go.

I think this is a neat thing to add to the mix, especially if you have some friends that are already playing Kill Team. This, at least, allows you to get a feel for the rules and play alongside your friends before taking the big plunge and picking up one of the big boxed sets.
Could you be tempted to give Kill Team a go with the aid of these Lite Rules?

Hold up…. G’Wullu giving away stuff for *free*?
THE END IS NEAR! XD
Lite rules are a good thing for introductory and demo games. Every game should have those. Makes snagging normies easier.
btw: @warzan when was the last Snag A Normy event?
I know – this and the last set of Warcry fighter profiles. I think someone on the Warhammer marketing team has been let off the chain.
Maybe the last shipment of “FFG white powder” had been bad… XD
This is the end, beautiful friend, This is the end my only friend the end, of our elaborate plan’s, the end.
Gentlemen, it was an honour punning with you *tips hat*
Lol see you in the next life ?!?!?
The Lite rules are laid out far better than the core rulebook and just easier to start with. GW has to date been unable or unwilling to do rules overviews. Most to date are half hearted and don’t include everything for a basic game. Maybe its just a culture thing in the design office.
The Intercession Kill Team is good, readily available models, not too much going on to overwhelm new players but enough depth for advanced players and quite decent overall.
Ah nice. This reminds me about how CGL gives quick start rules for they games as free pdfs and that’s good thing.
Ooh nice I’m surprised that they didn’t bring them out with the whitedwarf like many of the other game’s.
I’m not sure three pages of rules is much of a giveaway… especially when you need custom rulers to play the game.
Edit…. They have now posted Warcry Core Rules… a more substantial 26 page pdf.
You’re joking, right? The first paragraph of the condensed rules states the distance in inches for each symbol. No custom ruler is necessary.
Hadn’t read them at time of posting, but I thought kill team had symbols instead of inches.
I can’t fault you then. The amount of senseless, reactionary vitriol spouted about the colored symbols last August/September would make any casual GW fan believe a custom ruler was necessary. Not so; the standardized measurements used in KT are 1″, 2″, 3″ and 6″ which correspond to the 4 colored symbols. It is true that one has create a mental shorthand when reading the rules (i.e. remember that black [or triangle] equals 1″), but that comes quickly enough. Also, the minimum movement increment one can make is 1″, so sometimes movement is rounded up from <1" to 1".
Is it something simple like more sides on the shape means more distance?
No, the symbols are non-intuitive. But then it was revealed that the design team had used colors for the shorthand and the symbols were an afterthought. But I still speak in terms of inches.
And they have just done the same with the new Warcry rules – a lite version of course.
Along with the fighter card pdfs GW recently put out, it is a great way to try out the basic game.
Perhaps a way they are going to market their games during the cost of living hikes people are facing around the world.
Both AoS and 4oK basic rules are also available this way aren’t they?
