Death Korps Warhammer 40K Army Set Pre-Order This Weekend
January 6, 2025 by brennon
Games Workshop are going to be taking pre-orders this weekend for the new Death Korps Of Krieg Army Set. This will be the first time that you'll be able to get your hands on these new plastic miniatures and the updated rules for Warhammer 40,000 and the new edition.
Death Korps Of Krieg Army Set // Warhammer 40,000
This set comes with eighteen plastic Death Korps Of Krieg miniatures. Leading the way is Lord Marshal Dreir who can take charge of ten Death Riders. They will get covering fire from an Artillery Team which can be built in different ways and the Krieg Combat Engineers with their remote mine. This will give you most of the new Death Korps Of Krieg miniatures that you'll need with the pre-existing plastic infantry and more coming later down the line.
This will also be the first place you can get Codex: Astra Militarum with updated rules, new background information and more so you can run a Death Korps Of Krieg army or a Cadian one if you prefer. You will also get a set of cards for your army and Combat Patrol. There will also be a full transfer sheet for the Death Korps.
The Glorious Dead
As well as the new Army Set, you can also get a set of components for use with terrain and bases. The Battlefield Trophies set will also be up for pre-order this weekend.
Battlefield Trophies // Warhammer 40,000
This is a bit of an expansion of the Skulls set that Games Workshop did and now includes a bunch of heads for different factions so you can show off how many times you've bested your friends. You also get that dead Space Marine who has been torn apart by something monstrous. A nifty set but one that you could probably do using your bitz box depending on how long you've been collecting Warhammer.
Are you going to be picking up these new sets this weekend?

That’s an Army? Don’t get me wrong, beautiful miniatures, but I don’t think 17 men has been an army since the dark ages.
But horses!11!1!1
Wild horse’s ?
Yeah, they started rebranding these as Army Sets rather than Launch Boxes which was how they originally had it. Made more sense beforehand. At least they’ve stopped short of calling them Starter Sets but I think a fair few folks might still get dragged into buying them and then realise they have to buy a lot more. Certainly designed for those who already have Astra Militarum rather than newcomers.
Agreed 17 men is about two squads/sections, not even a platoon, calling it a “army” seems a bit far fetched.
An army of less than a troop … sad times.
The trophy collection looks like someone has just raided their bits box. Surely most folk have bits like these already lying around spare
Maybe it’s all failed GW Finecast tossed into baggies 🤣
I suspect that in this case, the word ‘army’ refers to the price tag, not the number of figures…..
I can’t help but feel while nice miniatures, excluding those travesty of sandbags this feels like a really badly put together box.
Yes the cavalry are new but aren’t the DkoK supposed to be all about attrition via trench warfare. Instead this is a load of cavalry with a static gun and 5 random grunts slowly plodding along behind them.
Are the Krieg from the polish area to start on their planet with they were good with cavalry attacking armour defences ?
Looking at this one rider with the sword it just hit me:
I want Hussars in 40K.
Complete with busby / shako, atilla jacket, pelisse and cavalry sabre.
And 40K-ified.
