Mechanicus Week Day 1: Taking Command (Background Of The Mechanicus)
December 21, 2015 by warzan
Getting stuck into Mechanicus Week at the deep end we look at the background to the Adeptus Mechanicus from Warhammer 40,000.
How are they, where are they based and how are they organised?
We’ll also be looking at the colour schemes that you can choose for this mechanical army!
What inspired you to begin a Mechanicus army?

Great video again. I hadn’t really looks at much of the mechanicus stuff but I’m thinking that now I will be picking up a model or two to enter into painting competitions.
Also, another good source of information about the Mechanicus is the Dark Heresy roleplaying books by Fantasy Flight, they tend to go into details about the Tech Priests on a more individual level; sort of what the day to day lives of Tech Priests are like. Tech Priest is also one of the more interesting classes you can play because they’re so unlike anything else in any other game.
Great show guys. I learned a lot about the Mechanicus today so thanks @aj86 and @warzan !
It seems the Tech Priests are using the Imperial Army doctrine if we cannot shoot them we will drown them in our blood. lol but not as their human counterparts they are actually learning. 😉
Despite my profound dislike for almost everything 40K, I nominated an Adeptus Mechanicus mini as the best of 2015 in the BoW awards. I aint no hater lol.
I thought the Vanquisher was Gryphonne IV because, in the fluff, now that Gryphonne IV has been destroyed by the ‘Nids the Vanquisher is a little rare in construction because the other Forge Worlds are trying to catch up, I’m pretty sure.
I adore the Skitarii model range, the Mechanicus ‘bots are also fun but the modified, masked and robed men of mars with their big stompy machines are a brilliant sight on the table.
Great show guys. I love these 40k talks, they are inspiring me to start painting my huge amount of unpainted Orks. Another good book whit Mechanicus in the Dark Apostle.
But i think my Orks will have to wait. Im really in love whit those skitarri models.
I never collected or played 40K until the skitarri came out. I think the models are fantastic. I went and bought a box or two of models. I may or may not actually play 40k but I’m going to put together a full mechanicus army. (might take a while)
parts of the mechanicus are in deep with the Horus heresy as they made a deal with Horus before the chaos deal with Horus where any new tech that was found they will get to enhance the army’s under Horus’s command to help the heresy win against the emperor.
Thanks you two, I love what you have been doing with the background to 40k and this faction week seems like the “duck’s nuts” too. Keeep it up and Merry Christmas to you both.
Great choice, I love the minis. Thanks from a Imperial guard fan. I think the fluff is an important matter in the hobby. It inspires me painting and modelling again.
