Dark Eldar Razorwing
May 25, 2011 by beerogre
So here's the pictures of the Dark Eldar Razorwing from Games Workshop, priced at a healthy £255.00... I mean £25.50...
Here's some of the details for you to enjoy...
The Razorwing jet fighter looks so fast and sleek, that it's impossible not to make whooshing noises as the backdraft scoops the notes out of your wallet. With unparalleled mobility and two dark lances as standard, the Razorwing makes for a great way of hunting down you friend's multiple tanks he had to buy to remain competitive against the Razorwing. But it's the jetfighter's deadly missiles that are to be bought feared most of all!
Their signature payload, the monoscythe missile, detonates in an expensive horizontal disc of force, lopping of the heads of all the models nearby in a broken display of unbalanced fury.
Four S6 blast templates dropped on your opponent's prized unit is going to leave that gamer crying to his mum, to buy him the latest release from GW, to battle this super-awesome jetfighter... and that's before you buy the upgrade to neurotoxin missiles... which always wound on a 2+... or a shatterfield missile that's S7 and rerolls to wound...
Ka-ching!
But remember to upgrade your jet with a nightfield... Dark Eldar work best when you can hit the target and they can't hit you back!
We really didn't playtest this at all... Evil laugh on standby...
I think that says it all...

I like it alot but, hopefully like many sensible gamers who care about their hobby and the ethics of fair trading, im not purchasing anything from the company who are now the unrivalled scumbags of the gaming world. Suck it GW.
Looks….expensive 😉
lol…
…now that’s pulitzer prize objective journalism right there guys 😉
You see, this is what I want from t’internet.
Something to make me laugh AND stick two fingers up to our corporate overlords.
There is no downside, as someone might say.
If you hover your mouse pointer over the GW link in the article, you’ll see it goes to a product page (the Razorwing product page, with the original developers comments that I… eh… expanded upon), but when you click the link it will take you to the GW homepage.
It seems the Razorwing page has been removed! 😉
bad andy putting next years prices up. i think the dark elder models are some of the best gw do
I’m curious about the writing there. Notice how several times he mentions costs. “scoops the notes out of your wallet” “deadly missiles that are to be bought feared”. And seems to to make note of just how over the top it is for the game “broken display of unbalanced fury”.
There may be some artistic licence… 😀
But then I don’t play GW games… 😛
To put it in perspective that thing will cost £50 here in AUS. So…… Hell no!
I think it looks awesome.
I’ll not deny that it looks pretty. 😀
Come on guys its £25.50 now for what it is and how awesome it looks that seems fairly cheap. I know GW are jacking up prices like theres no tomorrow but enough with all the hating. They have to make a profit you know 🙂
Indeed they do… but satire is not hate… 😉
The price doesn’t seem too bad I agree (though there are one or two other examples of this in GWs range they are few and far between), I would have to really see the thing in more detail to judge that accurately however.
Perhaps one to pick up at a friendly discount proving “hobby destroying” online stockist and put to use in non-GW games.
im gonna buy one just because i like it and want to paint it its a nice model
Australian equivalent is 50pound, and you say that’s not too expensive?!?
Its not too expensive in britian. But you’re in Australia where GW have for some reason decided to double the price of what it should be. Thats GW for ya… Xenophobes. Probably run by Nick Griffin…
F*ck me sideways! that’s bl**dy cheap! 25.50 for a vehicle that can take on anything. who cares its made of duct tap and polystyrene, probably get like a +1 cover save and with that weapon layout that’ll ruin everyone’s day in an instant.
Then again, I’ll just rely on my trusty hyrda’s 😉
*(cheap compared to other vehicles, that fill a similar role)
This is something I would only get to put together and paint. I personally don’t think vehicles like this belong in the game. It’s way beyond the scale of it. There should never be rules for something like this. It should only be for collecting.
everyone QQing about money makes me go a big rubbery one. heaven forbid an artist should make money…
maybe baseball cards are more in your price range?
nnot really into baseball but i DO have change for infinity and warmahordes… and magic the gathering for cards (at least their high prices are market collector driven, not driven by the rule books printed by the same producers of the product.)
Personally, i think its a bit under powered atm, It really needs four more lances that are str D, living metal and the stealth suit generator as standard and only cost 35 points. if its got all of that then i think it just about balanced.
