Cubicle 7 Take A Peek Inside New Wrath & Glory Rulebook
April 7, 2020 by brennon
Cubicle 7 has been previewing more of what they have been working on behind the scenes. Whilst they have their sights set on the release of the PDF for Soulbound soon, they have also been talking about what's coming for Warhammer 40,000 Roleplay and Wrath & Glory.
The latest preview has been focused on showing off the layout of the new book and some of the art assets that you'll find within its pages. I have to say, the new book is looking very nice indeed and the design of it seems top notch. It seems like Cubicle 7 is also working along the same lines with Archetypes as they have done with Soulbound, tweaking things a little to make it easy to just jump in.
One of the things I like about Wrath & Glory is that they have taken an approach that covers a vast swathe of the Warhammer 40,000 world, at least within the Imperium anyway. You can play as grizzled veteran Imperial Guardsmen, Tech-Priests, Freebooters, Inquisitors and of course even Space Marines.
Much like with Soulbound, it will be interesting to see how they balance these power levels throughout the game but its good to see that those options are there. It seems like Cubicle 7 are looking to offer you the tools to make stories set in all manner of different settings.
It also sounds like a little bit of an old man comment but I am so glad that the pages aren't absolutely packed with text. Having that simple layout with nicely spaced out text which is easily viewable makes the experience of reading a rulebook all the more fun.
I will certainly be very interested to dive deeper into this book!

Sounds like a good game in the making and love the cover for the book.
So for clarity, this is the same rulesystem as Wrath and Glory as released by Ulisses Spiele. So Archetypes is retained from that version, as are the core mechanics. What you are getting is a much cleaner representation of the system, some expansion in places, and streamlined character creation and of course better layout, plus some more utility in the text.
Also note I am biased as I wrote a good portion of the new revised version we are getting here.
I’ve got the old starter set but I held off grabbing the full Rulebook when I heard the revised edition was coming. But do you know will the various decks that were released still be worth picking up or are C7 going to be redoing those in the future?
That’s outside my knowledge but the decks are not needed to play.
The cards will most likely still be compatible. I don’t think they are changing the rules that much to invalidate them. https://www.cubicle7games.com/40k-faq/
Nice looking cover. Certainly grabs my attention. Are these rules compatible with the Dark Heresy or Rogue Trader Warhammer 40K Role Playing games when Fantasy Flight Games had a GW licence to develop a RPG? Is there any content overlap?
Hi @zebraoutrider. The system is not compatible. It is a d6 dicepool system, rather than percentile. This is actually better since a) it’s easier to accommodate the range of ability between a ganger and a primaris marine, and b) less “whiffing” on rolls like with the percentile system.
