Commit Heresy In Style With A New Emperor’s Children Praetor
July 29, 2022 by brennon
The Games Workshop team has been working on a few Praetors for you to use when leading your Legions in Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. This week was the turn of the Emperor's Children who get this impressive and swaggering leader.

The new Praetor comes resplendent in over-the-top armour that would blind anyone who looked at him when the sun was shining. He is ostentatious and I wouldn't have wanted any less for the Emperor's Children. He even has a ring on his power-armoured fist! You'll also notice that massive swooshing cloak that won't get in the way at all.

I would like to think that there is always just enough of a strong wind to blow his cloak out like that to make him look epic when he's fighting. I also like that the sword is just about hidden behind the cloak so once he has finished people off with his spear, he can draw that out on an unaware foe and slice them down.
If you would like to run this Praetor as one of the Emperor's Children who has perhaps become more invested in the Chaos Gods then you can swap out the head for this one.

He has been under the knife of the Apothecaries of the Emperor's Children and can now "sing his heretical song" to those across the battlefield. I could imagine his sonic wail sending Loyalists to their knees before he cuts them down with his spear.
Are you going to be picking this fellow up for your Emperor's Children?

No Emperor’s Children enthusiast here, but that is a good look model. The face striking and well painted.
The bare head is terrific. Not the full blown spiky weirdness of the Word Bearers but a subtle hint of the freakiness to come. Brilliant job
Should we be concerned that the dude having a speaker sutured into his gob doesn’t move the needle on your weirdness-meter?
😛
It’s moving but it’s barely a twitch compared to freaky chaos shizz that follows and I don’t just mean Fulgrim’s pool parties
This is one good looking space marine model. It captures the extreme of the Emperor’s Children. I especially like the cape on the pauldron. The face is especially creepy. It reminds me of a Hellraiser Cenobite.
So my question is – how does he eat? Intravenously?
That’s a fab looking figure I would be worried about Fulgrim thinking he’s trying to upstage him.
It might be the wings and feathers in conjunction with the beak helmet but I swear my first thought was “weird looking chicken” XD
Lol like this ?

Yarp.
Really good looking model by me. The chicken thought does come across with the beaky helmet and would likely be good to swap out if you couls. The best part is that there’s no Foot on Rock for the epic pose. This makes for a good place to start for better bases.
Nice model.
I don’t know why, but GW still hasn’t restocked the Deimos Rhino, MkIII/IV marines; I’m taking back over $1200 of Heresy GW/Forgeworld today as I can’t get the stuff I need to make my project happen.
Utterly frustrating.
That looks really good.
